EDIT: You know who you are, I don't think people who play multiple genre's have much to fear from my remarks.
Besides, i see a lot more people supporting the "Mass effect wasn't meant to be this/I'm boycotting all bioware games" crowd than people who just don't like mmo's.

I do play MMo's. MMO's have their place in the gaming community. Unfortunately, an MMO and an RPG have two completely different aims.
An MMO is all about interacting with other players in a massive online universe.
An RPG is about immersing yourself in Story, characters and gameplay in an interactive world you help shape.
SWTOR is the only MMO ive seen that has come close to blending the two.
Unfortunately no matter how rich the world in an MMO, if you cannot find a good group of people to play with MMO's get stale quickly. Especially since most of the gameplay is endless grinding. Heck, even with a good group of people an MMO can eventually become boring.
I would hate to see a series that was/is so focused on storytelling and character development suddenly become a open world grinder.

For the love of God, no. An MMO would drag the already sinking ship known as the Mass Effect series to the bottom of the ocean. It would certainly spell doom for EAWare if they were to even attempt this. Not just because the game in general would suck @ss, but mainly because the majority of us fans would shoot that idea down the moment it would be presented. If they even tried developing this, it would prove that EAWare doesn't listen to the majority of the fans. And most of us know what MMO's do in the end: they rob you of precious time AND money. There is no way to beat an MMO, just as there is no way to beat ME3 multiplayer with a steady galactic readiness rate unless you continuously play and play. So no, f*ck the idea of an ME MMO.
I've seen and played MMO's so I know what they're like, and Mass Effect is definitely not meant for it, especially after what all has happened recently in the past month and a half. I want a game that I can beat, not just endlessly play for hours and days and weeks and not get anywhere. And don't even get me started on paid subscriptions. <_<xsdob wrote...

I'm guessing it has to do with being online and play multiplayer, so I'd say:
NO WAY, NORWAY! (j/k Norway, I love you guys)
but I'll check wikipedia before I vote, to be sure.

I prefer to throw my money at nice Singleplayer-Experiences like Mass Effect 1 and 2 or the Witcher 2.

Mass Effect series was always a Strong singleplayer experience and if used, ME3 MP won't justify the ''need'' for an MMO.
In a more related note, how can they pull off an MMO with the current ending ? We all confined in a single planet or system and many hybrids around ? No thanks...

I still prefer the ME games as single player games though. It's just easier to make a deep and personal story that way. That is the series' strong point after all.

I think the idea of a Mass Effect MMO is really interesting, but I don't think Bioware could pull it off if they attempted it. So no, I would rather see no MMO than a botched MMO.

But it would have to be an hardcore sandbox with TPS combat.
Any mainstream tab-targeting themepark design would be a terrible fail.
I hope that BW learn from the SWTOR fail.
