Atm Im equally dissapointed at the ending (fix it, do not clarify it) and the Earth mission in its entirety.

For another DLC I would like them to do something about the ending mission, to make it more like ME2's suicide mission. More immersive and exiting. The Earth mission really is the most uninteresting mission in the game and It should not be.

Yes, definitely this.

I actually didn't really mind the Earth mission – but I guess that's because I was treating it as a run-up to the epic stuff (and I don't mean a boss fight).

As to why we still complain? I'm personally doing more than complaining, I'm trying to help them get it right (see the signature threads and please help with them), but throughout the problem has been that they've not acknowledged the issue in their public communications.

They messed it up once, and if they don't acknowledge that and show that they understand where they went wrong, what reason would I have to think they'd do any better the next time? The path to learning is riddled with errors and false starts, and you only make progress when you understand what went wrong.

Totally off topic, but then not really, I just got this email from a company I've been buying from for years. Okay, it's not a game, the software finds and adds metadata to your music library. Granted, the "scope" here is much smaller and the "cost" of fixing stuff is less for them.

However, notice the attitude and compare. They are getting overwhelmed with love by their consumerbase/fans right now, and trust me, some of them were way more vocal and vitriolic than anyone here.

And before the lecturing begins how different this product is from a game and all that yadiyadiyada, that's not what it's about, it's about attitude towards complaining customers:

Dearest TuneUp Gold Customers,

We know that last year wasn't without its bumps along the road. As always, we want to ensure that we're doing absolutely everything that we can to make sure you're happy and at the same time, keep the lights on here at TuneUp HQ. Along these lines, we released TuneUp 2.4 back in February as a major stability update with a number of under-the-hood enhancements. The early feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we thank each and every one of you who took the time to send us your thoughts and comments.

Despite the product improvements, it has become increasingly clear to us that a decision that we made mid-year last year continues to frustrate many of you. When we released TuneUp 2.0, we offered DeDuper as a separate product as countless hours went into developing the product, and it was not available for purchase at the time that the 'Gold' license was offered. While some of you were fine with that decision, others expressed (and continue to express) frustration and disappointment. Though it may have been a long and winding road that ultimately lead us here, we want to let you all know that we get it. And, we're sorry.

With that said, we've granted each and every one of our Gold customers free, and unlimited access to DeDuper (yes, that means you).

To activate your complimentary copy of DeDuper, simply start (or restart) TuneUp. At launch, you should see that the trial limits associated with DeDuper have been removed.

If you purchased DeDuper a la carte and would like a refund, please contact our Support Team within the next 30 days to request one*.

Our Gold customers, our wonderful early adopters, are the seeds from which the TuneUp community has sprouted. We hope that you accept this as our sincerest apology, and an honest attempt to regain your trust, love and support.

As always, if you have questions, run into issues or have something that you'd like for us to know, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Sincerely,

Gabe Adiv, CEO
TuneUp Media

Wow.....that is like night and day from the PR crap we see out of BioWare/EA. There are a lot of similarities between fequency of use that kind of software and games that have re-playability like MP and future DLC have. If the developer wants us to continue to support them with continued MP and future game and DLC purchases......bunkering down behind "artistic vision" and refusing to add an option to fix what I believe is a majority say is wrong with your product is company suicide. I don't want a turd clarified. I can see it just fine already. Making it shiny doesn't make me want to look at it anymore than before.

They're offering you DLC for FREE, to fix the endings. That's what we've all been asking for.

The entire time we wanted closure, and the plotholes to be fixed. And then when they offer us what we wan't, at the last second you say: "NVM WE WANT A COMPLETELY NEW ENDING!"

I personally find it pathetic, but thats just my opinion. Biowares atleast TRYING, right?

Its not what they are saying, its the way they are saying it.

According to them

They are not offering DLC to fix the ending as that would compromise their artistic integrity.

They are offering DLC to explain their artistic vision, becuase they acknowledge that  "some" fans needed more explantion and closue.

They have yet to admit, how much of a black mark the ending has plased on the series.
instead its the fans fault for not being to deal with it ?

More than a month of complaing/fundraising for charities/cupcakes/almost every major gaming news site covering the issue more than once, all that just for less than 10 mins of content that was ME3.
Its been a higly polarising issue, it been talked to death.

and all Bioware had to say was:
bla bla 75 perfect scores, critiically acclaimed, artistic vision, artistic integrity bla bla
we are proud of our work but
we realise some some of our fans needed more closue and clarity

Kind of what they should be saying:
The kind of reaction and controversy the game ending has sparked was not our intention at Bioware.
We our proud of our game but we can do better becuase our fans deserve better.
We will be taking fan feedback to develop a conslusion to the serier that address issues raised by the fans

Its more a PR problem then an ME3 problem.
This issue would have been put to rest week 1 , if Bioware established and maintianed candid dialogue with the fans

Instead we keep getting the corporate line with all the BS that goes with it.
To put buntly people will complain or whatever till they feel they are taken seriously or their issue is dealth with.
The latter is not happening till EC comes out , and since BIoware PR has been attrocious thus far that wont happen soon either

Well I have to disagree, the ending is abomination. the gameplay is good.... when you're not trying to wall stick when you're trying to revive some one. And the graphical animations has taken a step back with no film grain option and not to mention a lot of the animations are either stiff or buggy (I had a demon posses Chakwas once). They took a major step back with the Journal system the Mass Effect development team has certainly neglected a key part of the game. And the game only had a few shining moments the plot until the ending and the gameplay. Not to mention when they aren;t making previous choices in ME invalid they just become a number in your War Assets which means nothing as you don't see them in action. So in my Kroganly bias opinion ME3 is neither worthy of such high praises that its been getting from major gaming sites and magazine tabloids.

Thats more time then what all 3 ME games are put togeath yet you moan????? Its sooo sad. Least Bioware are doing what you asked. Stop and think it costs money bring back voice actors dev time. Now that you mention the harry potter films, Order of the Phoenix was terrrible.

Seeing as they're making the extended DLC now, then surely it's exactly the right time to be giving feedback? If the DLC fails, then it'll be too late.

Um, I could have sworn the majority of people were asking for completely new endings from the get go.  The reason they continue to complain is that their is no indication the EC will address the major issues (aside from plotholes and some closure).

Yes its just a game that some of us spent over 100 dollars and hours of our  time with.  And I read all 7 harry potter books in less than a quater of that time and can do so if I wish in that time. And the ending is far more sasifying than ME3... except for the epilogue maybe but that's just the epilogue. Last a check Rowling didn't have a new character pop out in the last 15 pages of the book telling Harry to choose a color.  And its sad you would resort to name calling and belittle players for giving their opinon instead of actually having a actual discussion in the forums.  Why do Bioware has these forums in the first place? Its so the gaming community can come here and discuss and give feed back on their games. Of course the commmunity to help other players with the game.

Lol I stopped coming here because honestly I said all I needed to say and then they announced the Ending DLC and I'm just waiting for that and hope that will improve my view in the game overall. I haven't played ME3 since it came out and I only finished 1 playthrough. Really hoping that DLC changes my mind.

Oh... easy. Its to keep up the public preasure so they don't think that they can slack off and make crap then pass it off as gold while boasting that they listened to fans. Also... because at this point I view this as a form of entertainment.:innocent:

It's not like we spent time, money, and emotional investment in this series, oh wait we did. This ending is a horrid sack of dead fish, and Bioware isn't doing what we asked, there compromising there fan base for "Artistic Integrity”. If Bioware wanted to make there fan base happy they would have got rid of the whole ending, and made a new one.

First, it remains to be seen if the DLC will fix anything. Secondly, we have only been promised clarity. If you went over the cliff with muddy glasses and were offerered the opportunity to do so again with a clean pair (yielding clarity to the experience), would you sign on? Lastly, if you love something you will tell three people on average. If you hate it, you will tell 11. That’s why it is far easier to get a bad reputaion than it is to earn a good one. People are upset and they want to talk about how they feel. Trying to cap it will create a pressure cooker which will one day blow up in your face. So I suggest patience young Jedi.Posted Image

So what if they are offering Free DLC? Since when do we have to be thankful, Mass effect wouldnt be anything without its fans and community. most of us have spent at least $180 over the 3 games and more if you purchased the DLC. I think we have a right to be a little upset with a flat product. The community should be able to express how we feel about something.

I personally find you a douche but thats just MY opinion.

Depends. If I was cliff-diving or BASE jumping, then yeah. Depends on what you were there to do.

Some people are not going to get what they want from the EC, others will.

First, no one is doing what we asked. We asked them to fix what was broken. They are simply telling us that it's not really broken. "No sir, you're wrong. The fact that your car doesn't drive, that doesn't mean it's broken. It's a design decision. We simply thought that would save wear and tear, so we decided not to include an engine. You're welcome."

Second, for the answer to "it's just a game", click the link in my signature. Short version is, everyone has something that they are passionate about which to others is a "just a". It's just a car, or it's just a sport, or it's just some pigment on a canvas, etc. etc. etc. For many of us, this game series was our "just a", and I sincerely hope that yours is never ruined as thoroughly as this was for us.

This, in a nutshell. Posted Image

Sorry but this is a crapshoot.

It's just as easy to ****** ppl off by continuously bickering and whanot as it is to keep them "in line".

So even if this is what is trying to be done....doesn't mean it's happenning.

They heard you and said they would release something else.....now if it keeps going I wouldn't be suprised if they said "the hell with it".  What if the DLC isn't good enough?

In fact Bioware listened to maybe 10% of the complaints( and that's being generous). And they picked thjis group to appease because it was the cheapest and easiest out for their failing because any story that needs clarifications is a monumental failure from the outset.

The complaints aren't about the game but the story.  If Mass effect had been a book rather than a game this issue would be more apparent. For example, would Agetha Christie have written dozens of books that sold millions and millions of copies if she suddenly decided that the murderer was some random character that didn't appear in the book until the last few pages? The answer is simply, No she would not because she would have been lucky to have found a publisher willing to put the thing in print.

And secondly people are entiled to their complaints. Such an outcry is hardly unprescidented with games or even TV shows and has even been successful.  Fallout 3 as a game example and Farscape for a TV show.

IF you're happy with the games ending as it was then great, thats an opinion you are entiled to but don't tell people their compliants are simply because we have nothing better to do. Many of us have jobs and families but we also have a passion for our passtimes and are free to voice our own oppinions.
