Varric, I want him back. He's a god among men.

Isabela is just trailing behind on second place.

For other people she was murdered. (kudos to them for really sticking to the I Hate The Chantry thing) For other folks, she killed herself after the Warden sacrificed himself. For other folks, she went back to being a cut-throat bard. There are all kinds of reasons why she shouldn't be there. The only way her Seeker role fits in is for the folks that didn't harden, romance, or kill her.

If they had multiple seperate versions of her that fit each of the paths she might have taken in DA:O, then it would have been ok. But they didn't. Instead, they retconned every path except one.

Whoa whoa, she commits suicide? Just if you're in a relationship, right? Because I do not remember that. Yeesh.

In all my playthoughs she wrote me an epic ballad and then disappears. Which sounds totally lame until you remember that she's the one singing the DA theme song.

Minor spoiler alert!

Ok, first off she's NOT a seeker! David Gaider has already stated this. She's like the divine's second-in-command and prime agent/enforcer or something like that.

But I fully agree on how she should only return to being in the Chantry if she wasn't hardened or recruited in Oirgins. Even if the Warden didn't recurit her, I've would have prefered just seeing her remain as a simple Chantry sister, maybe even had finally taken her vows since the first game. And yeah, I would have liked if she continued to travel with the Warden, maybe even settle down with him/her, if she was both hardened and romanced post game. I don't understand why it was so hard to give her multiple fates like Alistair and an unbugged Zevran and just replace her with a placeholder NPC like the Mass Effect team did in m3 if she was killed or remained a Chantry sister. It just ****s up the player canon when they pull things like what they did with her cameos in D2 . :pinched:

After  playing both Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3, I realized that I really don't want to see a former major companion, especially a  romanced one, return as a major, plot relevant character or companion in future games  unless we play as the previous protagonist.

I would rather see minor ones like Shale or Sigrun return if they were going to give us a choice.

If a previous companion had to return i'd like it to be Sebastian Vael.

He has a great deal of character potential.
