I've never encountered someone "outraged" by the endings legitimately.

Save the take back cupcakes space magic rainbows couple of drinks with LI pep talks, this is a real inquiry of mine.

Every person I've spoken to from RL friends to even in a MP lobby have generally said the same thing when the endings are casually brought up in conversation "I didn't hate it as much as everyone else seems to." Now being a long, long, lonnggg time various forum dweller I know for a fact people like to.. exaggerate and vent via forums. Do you guys/girls actually feel that strongly about it? I was very, very disapointed mostly in the fact I have put a ton of time (300ish hours I'd say is a fair number) into crafting perfect playthroughs over the years in hopes I'll have some flaming glory conclusion that leaves me in manly tears of joy but I was never in a massive blood rage to a point where I would have demanded the company change thier ending until I'm pleased with it.

If I were Bioware I don't think I'd be taking these forums very seriously, literally everything is negative and people swear up and down they hate Bioware and have ~lost all faith~ but yet.. still scower the BW forums? What? That's what I like to call the "echo" effect. People's opinions seem to be exaggerated in the company of fellow exaggeraters. I know some fans just will never be pleased, that's just a given with any game, but really? Every BW admin post you see has at least 9/10 of the comments saying something along the lines of "Hey well that's cool but this game sucks. EA are the devil I watch the angry joe show every night mrrmrrmrrr"

Just want a genuine consensus. Sure disappointment but, dirty diaper blood rage? It's a little embarrassing to be grouped into this mob of "fans" when I mention I'm unhappy with the conclusion of the trilogy.

I'm not outraged at all. I'm just really upset to be honest.

Just because people handle it in a mature manner doesn't mean their concerns aren't valid.

I actually feel just as angry about the endings as I say. And I've given valid, civil reasons why more times than I can count. I'm sorry you feel embarrassed, but I feel like Bioware dropped the ball and insulted us for pointing it out.

Er, not sure where he said that if you handled it well, that your concerns aren't valid.

@OP

I think it's less of whether or not you thought the ending was good and bad and more of, how much worth do you put into this game.  Some folks are really really....REALLY invested.  They will take the disatisfaction much harder than say...me.

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!

I'm sorry, I just think that as soon as I hear that word.

I'm pretty pissed about it, and have vented to several of my friends and co workers. I mean, I don't desk slam or anything but I get pretty vehement :)

People will always try to put themselves into the "norm" of society, but that doesn't make them right or wrong.

...Online people are being very vocal but in real world they are being fairly adult about the whole thing... Still Nerd rages in the shadows when no one is looking.

Agreed, 100%. But, I still can't wrap my head around the whole take back movements. Not the concepts, I understand them completely, just the people who swear by these movements. Hate to use the entitled fans argument here but it's really how I feel when I'm forced to sit on the fence for this long.

I've run into two people that were significantly put off by the endings. And that's out of two people who played the endings.

Is 'outraged' a good word? I'm not sure. But they were definitely in some degree of distress and confusion.

Funny everyone I know likes the ending...well that isn't entirely true.  I didn't.  Didn't hate it either.

If someone walked up to me and said, "So what did you think of the ME3 ending?" my answer would be and has been, "You got a couple hours?"

Edit:  When they ask me about ME3 in general, I ask them if they have a couple of days

There's four people in my IRL social group who are ME fans. Three of us are staggered that the ending for a AAA trilogy series was that called in.

The fourth hasn't been able to play the game yet.

LOL, rough break.  The only time anything has ever done anything like that to me is when I read a screen play called the root on a website that mind ****ed me for like a week.  It was like smoking pot and drinking a fifth of whisky in place of every meal.

See this is how I feel basically too.  The whole thing felt, really underwhelming.  I personally liked the concept, but the execution was soo damn poor.

For me my friends were like this
People I talk to a lot on skype and steam: One liked the series but isn't a huge fan (liked the ending..) one hasn't even played it yet. Taking his time with ME2. Since it's only one....one guy liked it. And that's all I know who played it fully.

People at my school: Eh, they disliked it. Once the news of the Extended cut they were back to being happy Bioware fans. So they are looking foward to that.

me: I liked the ending, love the series and talk way to much about it. Just wanted it to be executed better and explained more. So I'm content.

Don't know if this information is good for you, but that's all I got for "my opinion and other's about the ending".

The one person I talked to about the ending felt the same as I did; it was disappointing and left a lot of questions but didn't ruin the game, and we're both looking forward to the extended cut. But I don't know how he felt specifically because he didn't want to talk about it, for fear of liking it even less if he thought too deeply into it.

I raged for about a week, and then that rage left me. Now all I feel is bitter disappointment, with a hint of hope for the extended cut. But I do not think any rage people feel currently is unwarranted. Bioware dropped the ball with ME3 on multiple levels, not just with the ending. Not saying there weren't amazing moments in the game, but compared to the previous two games, ME3 simply lacks.

Out of the few people I know IRL that play Mass effect, two of them HATE ME3 with a fiery passion, and one of them doesn't care and enjoys playing multiplayer. :/

Outraged is the wrong word. I was more emotionally invested in the ME story then any other I've read/watched/played, so after the ME3 ending I was pretty down. But then that went away as any other emotion drawn out by a story would and its over. It hasn't affected the rest of my life like outrage would, I'm just not gonna buy anything else made by BioWare or published by EA. It's really that simple.

Oh and the ending was abysmal.

Hate, abhor, despise, aren't beginning to describe my displeasure.

I'll not dignify this any further.
