I've never encountered someone "outraged" by the endings legitimately.

I am outraged shocked stunned not for the crappy endings but the way in which bioware has openly lied and decieved its loyal fans that have made them who they are.

If I wanted the deus ex endings, I would have played deus ex. Simple as that.

Just want a genuine consensus. Sure disappointment but, dirty diaper blood rage?

Genuine consensus is impossible within such big and varied group. Personally, I was genuinely fuming for about a day after finishing it, and for days afterwards in no mood for gaming or any game-related fluff. Obviously I'm not mourning it a month later, and despite the bad aftertaste I managed to do what I always wanted before the release - get another playthrough rolling to see how things play out with different characters and different choices. However, and this is the key part, I'm still determined to stop buying EA products until they hit the bargain bit - if at all - and to not spend a penny on ME3 DLC. I still feel betrayed. I don't see that changing, and that's the part that counts for their bottom line.

Disappointed ? Absolutely. Upset ? I'd say so. I finished the game weeks ago and the ending is still on my mind. On the positive side it did make me realize that I'm a huge fan. Rage ? Nah.

I felt real, genuine rage at the immediate moment of completing the game, when you get the "Th-th-th-that's all folks buy the DLC!" popup. Only the desire to avoid teaching my daughter any new vocabulary prevented a stream of obscenity on my part. I have not sustained that rage for the past month - that would be downright unhealthy, but I've definitely gone from rage (an hour or so) to depression/disappointment (a few days) to annoyance (ongoing). I have several friends that play and their reactions range from mine up all the way to about neutral.

I wasn't angry. I was however incredibly disappointed. I don't think any piece of fiction has ever stunned me into inaction for so long. I sat staring at my screen in utter disbelief for an hour. When the intial shock wore off I came online to see if I was alone. My only solace was the fact that others felt the same way.

Bewildered or saddened is a more accurate description than enraged. The whole PR spin nonsense has angered some people more than the ending ever could. The ending just made people depressed.

Outraged? More anger and disappointment that I know from Me1 and 2 that BW can get the ending right, but for ME3 the most important end in the trilogy they gave us a rushed half arsed deus ex rip off ending. Why???? Then they tried to hide behind artistic integrity and that wound me up even more. ME3 is a game made for commercial profit not "art". As software it can be extended and rewritten, which is what I hope BW is doing to fix the ending. Anything less will result in more "outrage". Rant over.

The ending is not an outrage. It's a punchline. That's almost worse.

Angry? I chuckled by how terrible and rushed the endings were. The whole game was rushed, for that matter.

I've always been of the position whether or not they change is up to Bioware. What's up to me is whether I'll be buying future products from them.

Not outrage, more like resentment, disappointment and apathy.

Not to mention the feeling of utter disbelief when the credits rolled. The only thing that "outraged" me was the "buy moar dlc lol" message at the very end.

Did you see the polls with nearly 100K people saying that they hated the ending? Did you see the other polls initiated by other people (journalists mostly) who verified the results? You can't say that that is a majority of gamers, but it is indicative of a major trend. I think that even BioWare and EA realizes this by now.

(...) If I were Bioware I don't think I'd be taking these forums very seriously, literally everything is negative and people swear up and down they hate Bioware and have ~lost all faith~ but yet.. still scower the BW forums?

(...) It's a little embarrassing to be grouped into this mob of "fans" when I mention I'm unhappy with the conclusion of the trilogy.

The underline is mine, of course. None of this is true. Sure, you have people being negative and people swearing up, but that's only a part of what is going on.

In fact, if there is one thing this crysis has done, is show us that among the Mass Effect fan community are many interesting, intelligent, educated people, who have voiced many elaborate, objective, analytical observations about the ending-failure. On articles, blogs, youtube, and even on these forums. Remember the PR thread, just to name one?!

This thread is offensive to all those people. And we are not a mob.

I'm always telling people what I thought of the endings, I am not nearly as polite as I am on the forums.

I don't want to hurt the devs feelings, we are human we make mistakes, but yeah I am brutal about the endings when disucssing with friends.

Mainly cos I like well crafted narrative and having been essentially promised it, and not getting it, I am pretty angry.

That said, I don't hate the people at bioiware, I even would send Casey a big hug, because we are all humans living our lives and well, I'm sure theyu'll eventually fix it :P

No exaggeration.
I hate it.
I have told my friends this, and I have warned a lot of them off from buying ME3 and Bioware products in general.
They listen to me because they know I am an avid fan of Bioware and that I am usually quite selective of the games I play.

So, there you have it. I hate it as much as I make it sound like I hate it.

All my friends and coworkers that played it hated it. It was almost heartbraking talking to some of them about the game before they finished it. They expressed their love for it and how amazing the game was. They told me what they thought the end was going to be like. One told me how he could not wait to fight Harbinger at the end. I just held my tongue, let them bask in the glory that is pre-end Mass Effect.

I recall one messaged me, and I quote 'WHAT THE **** WAS THAT?!" I didn't know what he was talking about at the time, I thought he was angry at me. It was a pretty one sided conversation as he vented his frustration.

One of my co-workers, who I did not know was such an avid Mass Effect fan, did not know what to say. He tried to explain his dislike for it, but could not seem to make coherent sentences. He didn't seem to be raging, just so terribly dissapointed and distraught that Bioware ruined his favorite series.

Needless to say none of us talk about it anymore. We just like to pretend that Bioware did not take a dump all over their series.

None of my friends play ME3, so the only person I had to talk about it with was the game stop employee who works there. No one had walked in so we talked about it for a good ten minutes. We both agreed the endings were terrible but it wasn't enough to ruin the rest of the game, which is in fact awesome.

The ending isn't just the end of ME3, but the trilogy as a whole, and I think that's why people are taking it so hard

Perfectly understandable imo, if they've invested the same amount of time into it I have. I think the fact that so much backlash has occurred speaks for itself. It's one thing for the forums to complain, but raising money via charity doesn't really happen without steadfast dedication to your cause.

Bioware dropped the ball to be sure, but not until the last 5 minutes. There are both those who hate and love it. Unfortunately for me, when I do hear people say they loved the ending, it seems I never get the chance to hear much about why.

Every magazine I've read that talks about it says they loved it, but never says why. Every forum post here saying they love it never explain why. I can't really blame them, it seems a difficult thing to explain. Admittedly, I have seen some good posts claiming why the catalyst argument is valid, but the idea of defending the Normandy scene is just silly to me.

I thought it was horrid, that it didn't fit with the rest of the game. I thought it was totally anti-climatic.

I wasn't outraged. I was massively disappointed, and confused about why they'd do what they did. My sister felt similarly, and for weeks after we'd just ask each other "Why is it so bad?" and reply "I don't know, it was so bad!"
