I have finally gotten my hands on a ce (already got myself the regular edition, but held off on playing cause of other stuff). So today i fired up my xbox and started installing, when asked to register a code i entered the regular one, thinking the ce one was a seperate code that had to be entered. However now i seem to be unable to register my collectors edition code.

Is there any way to still register my ce code to my account?

On a side note: Why do you have to open up the game and register codes through there and don't just allow codes to be registered on the website?

Not sure if it'd work but maybe you could register it through the promo code form?

http://social.biowar...redeem_code.php

Edit: You could probably remove your first registration and then register your CE instead.

Well, the site won't accept he game serial codes. I tried deleting the online pass on my xbox as well, but the game doesn't seem to trigger the entry screen again.

It also seems to allow me to still go into the multiplayer section of the game even though the online pass and the game registration have been removed.

Any other ideas or should i try contacting customer support directly?

(had to click 'register game' again to be able to type this <<)

I have the EXACT same problem, not sure how to fix it. It's annoying that the collector's ed content and the online pass are the same code.

The support is beyond a joke.

I clearly explained the situation (bought standard edition, redeemed online pass, registered game, bought collector's edition, redeemed 2nd online pass, tried to register 2nd game...) and 24 hours later I got a badly spelt step by step guide on how to redeem an online pass and locate the soundtrack download on the forum; basically the information clearly presented a) on the online pass itself, and B) here on the forum - which directs you to the tech support if there is an issue.

SO ANNOYING!!

Seriously how hard is it to READ what someone has typed. I swear I don't know how these people don't get fired.

"You: I bought the standard xbox 360 edition of the game and registered it on the forums & downloaded the online pass. I recently bought a collector's edition xbox 360 copy of the game and downloaded the collector's edition content & online pass, but when I tried to register the game on the bioware forum it wouldn't let me, because I'd already registered the standard edition copy. Because it thinks I only have the standard edition copy still, it won't let me download the soundtrack. I have tried removing the registration, and re-registering but it seems the details are saved somewhere because it never actually lets you re-enter the registration details.

Please can you tell me how to fix this, thankyou.

"Advisor: Dear Niki,

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts.

Firstly, I really appreciate your interests in Mass Effect 3. I understand that you are unable to download the soundtrack. If you purchased the collector's edition of Mass Effect 3 for console but cannot locate your ME3 Soundtrack, follow these steps below.

please ensure that you have redeemed your Online Pass.

Navigate to your Bioware social account located at social.bioware.com and login using your EA/Origin credentials.

Select My Games on the bar on the left. Next, select Register Games. Find the correct platform and press Click here to register game.

Then click Your registered content to find the link for the soundtrack.

To download, click the More Info button on the right-hand side of the page and follow the instructions that it provides.

If there is anything else we can help you with please let us know."

*SIGH*

How did you get the game itself to accept a second registration? (thats what i'm stuck at at the moment, i can't get the game to even prompt for the other code).

For now after giving both my codes to them and them trying themselves to apply either of them online (which i was sure wouldnt work since its somehow tied to the console...) they told me to clear my xbox its system cache.

- system -> storage devices -> Y button (not a) on any of the storage devices -> clear system cache.

This results in the game prompting to download an update, but it doesn't trigger the registration process again :/

Ok nevermind that last question.. after trying to figure out if i could download the online pass again to then remove it again and see if it triggers something i found that it states its from the xbox marketplace. So i applied my ce code as a 'redeem promo code' to the marketplace and it offered me a collectors edition thing to download.

I gueess i'm now at the same step as you with the website not recognizing my ce. Not 100% sure it'll give me the ingame content, but i'll check that out this weekend when i have time to actually play again.

@smudgedhorizon Maybe they are bots that search for keywords in your message. " 'Collector's Edition' and 'Soundtrack' in the same paragraph? --> send instructions to find and download soundtrack." Do you think is worth the effort to insist in the issue?

@Dragoncloud The new pass will give you the ingame content, don't worry. I redeemed the code the same way you did and the content just added itself in my already started single player campaign.

Ok thanks for the heads up, i think i can live without the music being downloadable, although i'm still going to try and see if thats fixable, but i'm gueessing its the way they communicate with the xbox servers that probably will make that hard.

Ok since they had all my previous part of the conversation about the ce, they decided to make an exception and manually add the soundtrack to my account, not sure if it'll work for other people though.

EA support yeah, did you reply to the first response they gave? To be honest ea support has always been decent when i contacted them, sometimes it takes a little bit of time to get them to understand whats actually wrong, but usually it all gets resolved nicely. Just reply politely and explain in more detail if necessary what the exact problem you are having is. Since you already had applied your code you could maybe send them the code you used and a receipt (signed & dated by you) of the ce you bought?

Usually a reply to the automatic response will prompt them to properly read what it is you are trying to inquire about. (God knows how many help requests they get, so it is kindoff normal for response nr1 to be automated)

Yep I did reply, explaining again that I had already redeemed two online passes, and that the problem was that the system wasn't letting me register my collector's edition copy because I'd already registered a standard edition, but haven't had a reply back yet.
Thanks for the idea about the receipts and code, will suggest that to them. How is the soundtrack btw? :)

Exactly how did you delete the SE copy from your account? Did you click on 'Remove Registration'?

smudgedhorizon, I contacted support and they manually added the Soundtrack too. Give it a try, maybe they will get it right this time.
