I remember part of my war assets involved defending the Citadel. I imagined this as keeping the Citadel safe and having C-Sec and the citizens able to defend the base should the Reapers come for it. So there was no point in that? Starbrat and his toys took it over in seconds and left the bodies for harvesting?

I find it sad that the Citadel survived the Geth, Cerberus and then falls to Starbrat without a chance. Even if people did live, Shepard certainly didn't help with that did he/she?

Some people will probably troll or flame me for this, but I think that your Citadel Security assets will have some form of impact in the EC.

In the content we currently have though, they accomplish nothing.

This. I remember in the Pax panel someone asked "will our C-sec assets affect who lives or not" they said it will.

Source please? I don't remember that. The most we got was Patrick Weekes saying "you should assume everyone you met is alive!".
Because that makes sense.

Oh they did? Well nothing in the game made it look like anyone lived through that did it?

Butchered like pigs with every other man, woman and child on the Citadel.

I did wonder why the Reapers didn't attack there first since it was their enemy's HQ and was so poorly defended. Only when Space Hitler's bizarre, incomprehensible plan was revealed in all its confusing glory did I go 'Ahhhh!...wait...Uhhhh...'

Nothing, cause we were stupid enough to plan for a Cerberus attack and then the reapers attacked instead. Of course it would have been nice to see our many assets actually fail, and not just be told it failed. The biggest let down about that wasn't that the reapers easily took the Citadel, it's the fact that we weren't really told how the hell they crushed all resistance after we spent hours improving their defenses.

I just don't understand how the Citadel fall with such silence. Surely someone would have contacted the Alliance DURING the assult.

Since it wasn't even hinted at in the current state of the ending, I had to speculate that the mounds of bodies you see in the corridor were the C-Sec Defense. Maybe in the EC one of the Keepers will be kind enough to point me to the pile my LI Kelly is in.

Considering how quickly the Reapers descended upon Earth, and how overwhelming their power seems, it's not unlikely that they took the Citadel within minutes and that when the first report was recieved by Alliance command, the Citadel was already lost.

They realised the Reapers were killbots, and flew waves and waves of their own men into the guns, hoping the Reapers would hit their kill limits and shut down. Maybe we should have skipped the Zapp Brannigan war asset.

Futurama jokes make more sense than the actual plot.

Majority of them were processed or killed when the reapers hit the citadel. As for the minority, well lets just say they died shortly after.

The funny thing is when I remember ME1, and how it's stated the arms of the citadel are here to make a shield around the station. And be almost unbreakable, even with considerable firepower.
The C-sec can use the arms. They were unable to open the station in ME1 because Saren get here first through a backdoor (there is a video of him killing people in what we suppose is the citadel command center).
But why C-sec didn't close the arms when reapers came in ME 3 ? It wasn't the keepers, because they are basically programmed to do so once every 50K years, when they receive the special signal, and after the ME1 ending, C-sec make sure it will not happen again.
They would have the time to do so, there is a damn fleet around the citadel mass relay, and they wouldn't be wiped in a minute or so. They would probably sacrifice themselves so the citadel is safe.

The only viable theory could be indoctrinated people. But I still find it far fetched.

Those lucky enough to not be killed by reapers rained down on Earth as a sparkling shooting stars. And burned in the upper atmosphere. Survivors on Earth hugged and made wishes about rebuilding their lives and meeting their loved ones. But then the rest of the citadel and remains of the huge fleets rained on them too.
And then the exploding relay  annhilated all life in Solar system.
The end.

From an inteview that a fan did with Weekes they put people in sheters where most of them has a chance to survive... It was on this forum 2 weeks ago I think.

But really the game tells us nothing about it, it's just one more of those things that lack closure.

Given the huge amount of cliffhangers presented at the ending im guessing this is the cliffhanger for ME4 or it's equivalent where we finaly get some answers as to what really hapend to all the people around the galaxy...

Maybe the next game will be called, "Mass Effect: a brave new world."
