You never meet that specific demon again. I can think of only 2 times I encountered Pride demons (that's what Mouse is). One is Uldred, and the summoned fade beast from the deep road quest "Asunder".

the character uses a different model than the pride demons, but based on story/codex info there's good reason to believe Gaxkang the Unbound is also a pride demon.

the fact that gaxkang won't let himself be a footnote in history(not sure if that's exact text) before attacking you also suggests an element of pride in his reasoning.

Don't think Gaxkang is the pride demon.
For one thing, the pride demon is huge. The visual of the PC when he looks at his/her companion's transformation is the same as when looking at a dragon - starts at human height and then keeps looking up and up - the implication is the pride demon is HUGE.
The other thing is that when freed from the Fade - a greater pride demon can threaten the whole world (according to the load screens). Gaxkang, while a powerful adversary can be taken down by 4 people - and he's not exactly threatening the world, just drawing unfortunate adventurers and finishing them off for reasons of his own.

Revenants are Pride Demon possessed undead, Gaxkang is a revenant.
Maybe he has a different agenda.

Hmm. Youre right.
Must admit I'm disappointed - especially since the Demon from the fade in the Asunder Quest is also supposed to be a pride demon.
I actually like the thought of a huge world threatening demon lurking in the fade, biding its time...
Which would mean that even normal pride demons should be scary.
I can live with an idea of Gaxkang being a "lesser pride demon" and the run of the mill revenants being "Least Pride Demons", but unfortunately, that doesnt seem to be the case

if there was such a powerful demon, why hasn't it already made its move, and why does ferelden still exist?
then again... lack of evidence is not evidence of lack... forget I spoke =P

The world-threatening demon is the corrupted Maker. The Maker technically still lives in the Black City but, now, as the Destroyer. He seeks greater goals than one measly young world. He wishes to unmake everything. The intruding Magi exposed His second failure, and He descended into madness, believing that He and all that He made must be flawed and unworthy to exist. The allegorical Chant has only a fading glimmer of the Truth of mankind's (human, elf, dwarf, qunari) redemption. Mankind does not need to spread the word of the Maker over all of Thedas to make Him return to the City. Actually, mankind must prove to Him that it is redeemable despite its actions and, thereby, pull the Destroyer back from the brink before He carries out His terrible plan.
Or I just made all that up.

The demon you encounter in the origin is Sloth.
The demon who puts you to sleep when you return to the tower later.. is Sloth...Oh noes! The conspiracy...he was also a shape shifter...

You encounter 3 demons - one is sloth - who teaches the bear form, the one you fight, and finally, the one who fights by your side.
Little Mouse-bear isn't so little after all.

demons vary greatly in power and scope.
all of the undead in the game count as demons as well. a demonic spirit is what allows the dead body to move. this translates into gameplay as well, here's a hint: Cold Iron runes which add bonus damage against undead provide the same bonus against any kind of demon (abominations, desire demons, rage demons, etc.).
Pride demons are listed as being the strongest type of demon, in general, but that isn't strictly enforced. it doesn't mean that every pride demon is stronger than every desire demon, and so on down the hierarchy. a powerful Sloth Demon (like the one you fight in the mage tower) is stronger than a relatively weak pride demon (like the one you have the option of fighting in the Asunder quest).
Uldred's possessing demon was a somewhat strong pride demon. The demon you encounter in the harrowing origin is a pride demon of unknown strength. The Asunder demon is a weak pride demon. The Revenants are undead possessed by pride demons. since they are undead they cannot take on their fade-beast demonic forms. apparently it requires an abomination (a possessed mage) to be able to transform into the fade-beast form.
my speculation is that Gaxkang, who is the arcane horror variety of revenant, is actually some variety of pride demon. a somewhat strong one to be honest, he's one of the toughest foes in the game. keep in mind that even an Archdemon or High Dragon can more or less be taken down by "just 4 humans". your party is very strong.
Gaxkang seems quite clearly motivated by the typical motivations of pride demons. he tempts his victims be appealing to their pride. "be a famous adventure" and whatnot. he ensares them by appealing to their ego and sense of pride. thats basically the definition of a pride demon.
