So my friend has a copy of ME1 that she downloaded from Xbox Live and every time she tries to load the game after the 'press start' screen, her Xbox 360 displays a lovely 'Disc Unreadable' error, and then returning her to the Dashboard. Not only that, she went through 4 physical copies and tried cleaning the discs, cleaning the drive, installing the game to the hard drive and it still comes up with a disc read error. And the even better bit is that it works fine on my Gamertag or a random gamer tag she created. Is there a problem with her account like a corrupted profile for ME1 or what? I'm extremely confused, she has no idea either and she's so far been unable to finish the first game, missing on quite a few descisions that get carried over and getting defaulted to options she does not want. Any advice would greatly be appreciated on this matter :/

Your friend needs to connect to EA Support.

The only thing that comes to mind for me is that their Gamertag might have been corrupted in some way. Using other Gamertags seems to rule out an HDD problem (those should be consistent no matter the Gamertag). If they still had disc copies still I would have suggested removing the HDD and loading the game to see if it works (apparently it is possible according to Microsoft's own website).

A corrupted ME profile might be a possibility. Have they managed to play any ME? If memory serves there's a file generated on the HDD, something like Game Profile or something; I would suggest deleting that to see if that makes a difference as well. Otherwise, as Gorath suggests: EA support.

This is a possibility. She finished the game once a while ago just before ME2 was released. Then the error stopped popping up. I'll tell her about the game profile idea and hopefuly that'll work. Thanks OBakaSama, and i'll try EA support Gorath if that doesn't work.

Thanks guys :o
