However I think the Claymore is the most powerful gun in the game. Enjoy!

The Claymores devastating power is certainly something to behold, but I find it practically worthless in most circumstances. Especially for a vanguard.

Agree. I like my shotguns to have enough shots that I have a get out of jail card in case I get into a sticky situation. Graal or GPS for me.Xarathox wrote...
Personally, I prefer my M-23 Katana over the Claymore. It's level 10, has 5 shots per thermal clip and even with a level 1 ammo mod it retains enough of it to actually be useful.

Single shot weapons are devastating on infiltrators though.

Sorry, but this is just my opinion.
While a great gun for pure power, I believe it's weight and minimal clip size make it less effective than either the GPS or the Eviscerator.
Again, just my opinion, but there it is.

Geth Infiltrator + Claymore = OWNAGE. Much better than sniping even, because Claymore ignores shieldgate. It's almost too easy.

It works well when I run up to things and start melee'ing them and get into bad situations. Shotgun blast and a shockwave give me enough time to get out of there without taking too much damage.

I have most shotty's unlocked, including the Graal and GPS, but with the exception to my Katana their all level one. <_<
The Graal is a strange weapon to use in MP. It lacks the pellet spread other shotty's have and I end up missing with it way too often.

Or Turian Soldier + Claymore = shotgun sniper that ignores the shield gate. Can headshot OHK pyros from tens of meters.

Geth Infiltrator, specced for melee. You can 2 shot Claymore in rapid succesion and then heavy melee the third. 3 guys dead in 2 seconds.
2 rapid shots how? medi gel cancel?

On Gold it ignores shield gate, you can take a Pyro out with 1 cloaked shot after an energy drain.
18 bullets, each can take out a Pyro or Hunter/Centurian/Marauder if you aim well and hit the head. Its not that tough when the crosshair is that huge circle.
Do the reload cancel and your DPS will be very high.
Slap on a smartchoke and extended barrel and give it a try on an infiltrator.
You might never use a Widow again.

I snipe things across whole maps (giant, dagger, hydra...) all the time with that thing. Most of the time it means I only need one extra shot on things like nemesissies and centurions. Still OHKs unshielded things from absurd distances.
And reload cancelling. It reloads about as fast as a pistol, often faster, if you cancel it. And even if you don't, unlike a lot of other shotguns, unless you miss spectacularly whatever you're shooting at will be dead after the first shot. So reloading with it really isn't much worse than multishotters.
However, though I'm defending it, single-shots and its weight make it not quite the best gun, imo. It's damn good though.

Claymore is tops. I end up switching between Claymore and Valiant on my SI depending on what mood strikes me.

"Claymore has no range" is a common misconception. Getting less common, but still out there. I didn't believe it till I tried it, but with the smart choke mod, it's lethal at a distance. From mid-range, it's positively disgusting.maxtofunator wrote...
How is it the best gun? It is ONLY useful in CQC, and even then, you have to be overly careful when you use it. If there are more than 3 enemies around you, you're dead. Simple as that. I'm not saying other guns are the best gun either, but the claymore's problems are rather large to qualify it as the best gun. I use it on my battlemaster but that is it. I go with my Katana for more reliable kills on an infiltrator, because I don't have the health to sit there and take face bullets while reloading
The tower on Dagger is a good place to test this. The tightened pellet spread means you can kill troopers from their spawn point.
I don't know if the Claymore is THE best weapon, but I don't think there really is one. For me, it's absolutely top tier, though, ranking with the Carnifex, GPS, Black Widow, etc.

That's Krogan rhetoric textbook stuff.
"There are guns and there's the Claymore" - Krogan proverb
