So do you think it would be possible for ogre emmisaries to exist

I don't know how specific darkspawn have magical talents and others don't but I see no reason why an ogre emmisary couldn't exist

Unless there's something we don't know, an ogre emissary is possible.

There are Qunari mages but they get their tongues cut out. Fun eh?

Theoretically i guess it could happen, but they would be extremely rare. The "normal" ogres are not the most populous Darkspawn, and the birth of an emissary Ogre would be even rarer. Rare enough to only ever run into one once in the game.

There are Qunari mages, but that's not the point. Ogres come from a Qunari broodmother, I don't think we know how darkspawn inherit magic, if they do at all. It's supposedly different from humanity's, so it may have nothing to do with genes.. Then again there should be sharlock emissaries as well, then, yes? Perhaps it's just not possible, but there's nothing thusfar to suggest it isn't.

Possible but improbable.  They could put one in in future to be "cool" but in all honesty it would be unrealistic.

I thought the qunari only got there tongues cut out if they practice "forbidden" magic in public? Although I have no idea what the Qunari call forbidden when it comes to magic.

So uh.... what are Ogres made from exactly?

I mean genlocks are made from dwarves and hurlocks are made of humans.

But what kind of brood mother makes ogres and shrieks? And what creature are they made of?

Forbidden magic is any magic cast when you have your tongue in your mouth.

Ogre broodmothers must be huge given the size of the dwarven based genlock one we saw, giving me nightmares just thinking about it

Towering over their tainted darkspawn kin, the massive Ogres are a rare sight on the battlefield. Traditionally, they only appear during a Blight, but some records claim that ogres have been spotted in the Deep Roads hunting alone or in small groups. At least one report by the Grey Wardens claims that an ogre was spotted alone in the Korcari Wilds
in 9:19 Dragon, though it was weakened and easily dispatched. Up to a
hundred of these creatures can accompany a darkspawn horde at any one
time during a Blight, often using their great strength to burst through
fortifications and demolish the front lines of the opposing army.

Emissaries only appear during a blight.
Ogres only appear during a blight.

All Ogres are emissaries.

How do you know Ogres are made from Qunari? I thought the blights had only been confined to Thedas. And the Qunari didn't make their voyage over until around the end of the Blight, and I believe Ogres have been seen in the other blights...

You know that's somewhat of a contradiction.

Ogres only appear during a Blight, but the last Blight was 700 years ago.. but if Ogres are born from Qunari, the Qunari arrived on Thedas 300 years ago.

Now I suppose the darkspawn may have reached the other side of the world already, but I thought their rapid mobility was due to the deep roads, which don't extend overseas.

As Sten proves, the arishok apparently get curious and send members of the antaam to 'feel' the world.  It's perfectly plausible (and obviously happened) that some get captured.

EDIT:  Although... hmm.  Broodmothers are females, and female Qunari don't fight.  I'm not sure, then... I know there are Qunari mercenaries, and 'rebels' who believe Qunari society is opressive, perhaps females venture out that way?

It's what the Codex entry on the Broodmother says. And yes it is a bit of a contradiction.

The problem with that is, only females become Broodmothers, and no Qunari female is ever made a soldier. In fact they're rarely seen outside their cities.

It means that they were a recent addition to the Darkspawn.
