Yes, because obviously, those that don't want to cling to an empty, shell of an MP game down the road because there's no worthwhile content that had been introduced for months and months are not "true" fans. Not sure if ignorant, or troll.

Yet, here you are on the forums... Anyway, what I don't understand is that this game has only been out for a month and a half and people are complaining that the game is getting old and repetitive. Give them some time. You do realize that game development does not happen overnight yes? When you've created your own game, come back and talk about timelines.

I am much more interested in Risen 2 myself. That's coming out next week I think. And it's not going to make me play less MP. The only thing making me stay away from MP at the moment is the store system. So sick of it.

Me neither. I come from the Dragon Age and Elder Winds lineage of RPGs. As far as co-op games go, I came from the L4D series and Borderlands.

Just counting down to Diablo III here. So, starting the 15th, yes for me.
Exactly. Even if ME3's MP is making BioWare a decent amount of cash...without anything to keep players interested outside of weapons and characters (which, N7s are already a pain to acquire while chracter cards are the complete opposite), MP is going to go downhill with Diablo 3's release, Max Payne 3 will also be out next month...then Ghost Recon Future Soldier in June...and the BF3 expansion packs as well.
BioWare is running out of time. It's probably hard enough for a large portion of the fanbase to even THINK about picking up SP again until after EC, but if MP doesn't get more variety soon..it's all downhill.
Truth brotha!
Anyway, I agree, obviously.
And as a long time gamer and fan of MP game in general, I know what must be done to salvage this MP.
#1 - Store
a) Needs a permanent equipment pack that features 5/5/5/5 Combat Consumables, and one random level 1 or 2 piece of consumable equipment.
c) 255 Thermal packs and 0 Medigel/Cobras/Survival packs... there needs to be a check that nets you what you have least of as far as consumables. Or at the very least, there needs to be less thermal packs.
#2 - Current Characters
a) Turians are all but obsolete. Why? Because they have no combat dodges or rolls for survivability. That and hunter mode is a permanent and better version of Marksmen... without a cooldown... and with the ability to spam extra abilities... and of course, wallhax. Next to Hunter Mode, Marksmen and even Adrenaline Rush, are completely crap. Oh! And the Geth can use the 5 Ds of Dodgeball... Turians can't. It's stupid, stupid to think that within the lore and even witnessed in the games, Turians are badass and agile as ****!
c) Geth Infiltrator - Sadly... still lacking compared to SI. Why? Needs Overload, not Proximity Mine.
#3 - Maps
a) Need a few new ones. How about a multi-level map? A Thessia map? Citidal Map? Earth Map? Hell.... I'd even go fo a Paloven map
#4 - New Modes
a) 2v2 Team Killing Spree - 2 Teams try to out-do each other on cutoff and identical maps for the highest score. Bonuses are paid to the winning team.
#5 - New Objectives
a) VIP - Either NPCs or a team-mate must be protected while they retrieve something from a terminal and then get to the LZ. Personally, I think it should be an NPC so that it makes a bit more sense getting them to the LZ for extraction.
:innocent: Just some ideas, but I can tell that if something major doesn't happen with the MP soon... then it is going to die off quickly.

I will refrain from commenting on the other things you mentioned but this one I must voice an opinion about. The GI with Overload or even ED then becomes a clone of an already present character. It's fine with proxy mines if you adapt to the given powers/abilities. I, for one, dislike proxy mines with my SI. He just works better with the crazy ED he can spam. The GI on the hand was made for them.

It doesn't have any lasting appeal since it's just horde mode.

As I only really play bronze... I have almost no desire to play now as building up any sizeable amount of credits takes a long time and my chances of getting to play a geth seem too astromonically high right now.
Yes, I will be playing D3 next month, but doubtfully in any MP form of it.

They've got nothing to bring back the fans for long enough. There's too little variation in multiplayer, the very basis it is designed on is flawed. A single game-mode with only three enemies on a small number of maps spells trouble for continuity. When people do go, there's not really much keeping them here, since after a week or two, any new DLC will be completely dead. Other games make their DLC breath more life into it as the body of the game being updated is vast and diverse, everything that ME3 multiplayer isn't, which means that when they add something, while they add a percent of extra play-time to the game, there's a lot of play-time to begin with, so the time increase is large enough to keep the servers filled. ME3 cannot as-is. The only way to truly remedy this is to expand on the indiversity of the system (game-modes/objectives, enemies, maps) to try to add more playtime overall, not just recharge some of the lost play-time.
^^^^ This... nothing else needed....
And dont forget the cr*py store random system...

Inevitably you'll lose players whenever the next new thing comes out. But the target audience for ME3 is not the same as D3; one's a top-down action RPG, the other is a hybrid RPG-FPS. It would take another FPS-RPG or FPS to be directly competing with the target audience, I would think.
So does that make me, as someone that is interested in RPG and that is equally annoyed by Top down and FPS, part of the target audience or not?
I mean seriously... and here i thought the majority is here for the RPG and not for the FPS.

I say the better personally. This will get rid of some of the elitists, and then also the people that just jump to whatever the newest game is. In my opinion, it will leave the people that A) actually like the game and want to play with people, aren't jerks, and C)people that know about the classes and use them correctly instead of just playing for funzies
Just a though.. you pretty much sound like one yourself if you put it like that. The elitist kind of that creature actually. So unless you have an intention of leaving i suppose we can rule out B.

I love the game play far more then I should. In and of itself the way Mass Effect plays is actually really fun. Unfortunately that's about all its got.
The masses of various bugs that go from devastating (disconnects and ungranted credits/items) to annoyingly comical take away much of that fun. Then the way the store functions will be outright crippling come a DLC we actually are required to pay for (and will likely split the player base). The currently limited modes and process of gaining in game credits make it more laborious then it really should be.
ME3 MP has Mass Effect game play going for it... that is all. And why people like me both really love this multiplayer and absolutely hate hit. It is a freemium demo of what could eventually be a really fun game... to bad we won't get any benefit when/if Bioware makes a full game.

The truth is though that ME3's multiplayer is inherently doomed to shrink, like all multiplayer games. They can keep releasing DLC and delay the inevitable, but it's still inevitable.

I really, really enjoy MP....but without any actual gameplay enhancements and not just characters and weapons added...I feel like Diablo 3's imminent release will kill off at least 50-70% of the population.
Anyone else feel the same way? We need more game modes!
I am actually looking forward to the release of Diablo III and Halo 4, so that the hardcore fans can relax and enjoy the ME3 MP without all of the whiny new-release "fans" with a sense of entitlement getting int the way of our enjoyment.
Clear-em out, I say.
Less people playing = less time before Bioware shuts down ME3 servers.
I hope as many people as possible stay and play the game, not because I want to play with them, because I only play with friends, but so they can keep the servers up
The servers are currently overloaded, judging from the number of drops/game I see. I doubt they will deploy more servers, as they know the initial influx is due the "newness" factor, and will diminish. I highly doubt that they will shut it down all together as it is a recurring revenue stream for them. If/when they DO shut it down, I'm sure someone will have "unauthorized" servers up for people to play against. (It has happened before ...)

On pc maybe but no Co-Op game on xbl ever dies.
Where did the idea that ME3 Co-Op on the PC is dead or gonna die? Who decides these things?
Pc users are always in flux over this type of thing. There are a few that stay behind because of nostalgia but the majority Always Abandon the game once the next best thing comes Along. Look at Dark messiah,JKA,Vtmr and the list goes on.
Same could be said for consoles. It's really isn't exclusive to the PC.
No, the difference is we don't have to Install and Uninstall the game every time we want to play.We just slip in the disc, sadly pc users don't have this time saving luxury.
With TB's of space available now uninstalling isn't really necessary. You just kind of ignore it if you don't want to play.
I stand corrected <_<
