On PC it might be dead, but considering that the majority of the overall players bought the game for 360, I can't see ME3 dying as a whole. Now when Halo 4 comes out then it will be fairly desolate on 360 xD

I'm curious where you got your sales numbers, as I had heard quite differently (with PC sales being on top), although no published source gives numbers for PC sales at this point.  (They HAVE, however, published that XBox sales dominated PS3 sales 4:1.)

I don't care about DIII. But still preordered it for £28 at Tesco Entertainment.

Add it to your basket then apply the coupon "GAMES5".
:)

Currently I'm working through a Dark Mode run of Witcher 2, just got to Act II.

[joke]you DOING it WRONG BOY and playing on the 360?  HUH BOI?  BOI you best get cho ass on the PC![/joke]

So anyways with Diablo III coming out May 15th and the Open Beta to all now, I don't see a reason to keep playing ME3.  I see more then 80% of the PC population gone by on May 15th.

1st sales week/month 1.18 Million copies where sold on the consoles with 943,000 on the Xbox 360 alone.  They didn't report on the PC but I'm sure its less then the total of Xbox 360 number.

while ps3 and xbox most likely wont even notice I think pc will take a big dent, not a "it's dead" dent but I think it will be noticeable. I mean come on its diablo.... borderlands would not be around with out diablo :P console people probably don't know how big diablo is on pc though I have not played 3 yet so 3 may suck.

you can't realy count pc sales with all the stores and all the download "stores", thats the problem with downloadable games it skews the pc sales... so I guess what i'm getting at is we may never know :P

Max Payne 3 will take a chunk out of console players
After Max Payne another chunk of console players will get off for Ghost Recon
After Ghost, Resident Evil 6
After RE6 you'll have Boarderland 2
After Boarderlands 2 you have the juggernaut of this generation COD
After COD you'll have ACIII

Between a Ghost and RE6 PS3 owners will have Starhawk which is actually built for the PS3 so you won't get screwed by the BioWare bull****, and for the Xbox 360 owners after Boarderlands you'lll have Halo 4 which was built for Xbox so you'l have less glitchy **** to deal with.

Its always the newest game for console owners.  You won't see the game dead but you'll see a major dent that'll be hard pugging it.

They could use another metric to give a rough idea on how many were sold: game activations. Although you might have to take that with a grain of salt because it would be easy to fluff those numbers to make it look good.

All of the reviewers that used this number were VERY careful to specify that most game publishers do not want the PC sales numbers published, thus PC numbers are excluded from that total.  This is in part due to the "What if it is a flop?" fear, but largely due to digital download numbers.  There is an overhead pricing "dispute" going on between digital distribution and physical sales, which puts publishing these into a risky area.  Given that PC sales are (almost) always higher than console sales during initial relase (and frequently over the long run) with digital distribution, I'm sure you are wrong.

i cant play it on my comp i will just wait for it to be released on the console whenever that happens, since i would need to get new pcu and video card to play it which will cost me more than just playing on the console when they do release it{ as they said on the website that their are doing it like how they did the old d1{ i have on the ps1}

Personally, I'm starting to run out of stuff to unlock. Yes, there's some weapons and tons of weapon ranks I've yet to unlock, but I'm pretty happy with my arsenal at the moment. I've only got one character left to unlock (Asari Justicar, the character I'm least interested in from the Resurgence pack). Combine this with making the N7 weekends every other weekend, rather than every week, and the fact that Diablo 3 is coming out, means ME3 is likely to see a lot less play time from me.

This is unfortunate, as I really, really like the gameplay. Multiplayer has definitely expanded my ME3 play time, as if all I had available was the single player (which was great till the ending) I'd have been done a month ago.

Maybe the bi-weekly N7 weekends is a good thing - players will space out there play time and won't get burned out.

Yep. It's the cascading amount of new games literally on the horizon that may kill ME3's MP sooner rather than later. This is why I think they shouldn't focus on releasing characters and weapons but rather, new game modes and whatnot. Cutting back on weekend challenges certainly doesn't help, either.

AGAIN, Diablo 3 was used as an example. I know it will the PC crowd HARD, not so much the console crowd for obvious reasons...and even though the games are different and cater to different audiences, D3's name is enough to pull a very decent chunk from ME3. On the console end...there are a bunch of other games releasing in the same time span (6-8 weeks) that ME3's been out for, so folks, it's really not early as you think it might be to wait around another 2-3 months for new content that isn't a new weapon or character.

Trust me, I want ME3's MP to last as long as possible and to be as good as it was the first week I played it...for a very long time. But after just a month and a half of the same repetitive stuff, with no news on substantive gameplay modes and additions - it just doesn't bode well, given the releases that are right around the corner. I hope BioWare realizes this, and isn't just content with the moneysinking from those people who are buying packs with real life money.

Are you kidding me to assume that the PC actually sold better on the 1st month then the console?  Going to call you out here chief as the Xbox 360 always ends up with the higher sales number in the LONG RUN then the other two systems.

Yup.  My main issue with the game will be that late comers will get screwed with almost zero players in MP for the SP ending.  Say what you wil lbut having that fluff when you don't finish a quest or miss it is a big helper.  So I think that was ****ed up way for BioWare/EA to force a MP which was actually to force Online Pass.

Atleast for my PC copy I could probably just screw with the .in files.

The multiplayer lacks achievements and any reasonable upgrade system. Not to mention that on PC it's nearly impossible to communicate with other players, add or find friends and so on, making me3 multiplayer one of the most promising failures ever. Diablo's release will have nothing to do with the inevitable mass exodus.

By the way, I think you guys are failing to keep in mind that the game is only a little more than month old, and therefore new players are joining all the time still. Not everyone buys a game as soon as it comes out.

And this is the console generation where the new always overshadows the old.  ME3 will still sell okay but you can't deny that it'll have a huge drop off in players.  And the games community will slowly die off as the year comes to an end.

COD will eat up pretty much everything/whats left by the end of the year and next month for PC gamers Diablo 3 will do the same.

It will eventually get dull unless it gets a complete overhaul. But i dont see it dying if kept in the same state as in is right now until later this year.

On pc maybe but no Co-Op game on xbl ever dies.

Where did the idea that ME3 Co-Op on the PC is dead or gonna die? Who decides these things?

Pc users are always in flux over this type of thing. There are a few that stay behind because of nostalgia but the majority Always Abandon the game once the next best thing comes Along. Look at Dark messiah,JKA,Vtmr and the list goes on.:)

Same could be said for consoles. It's really isn't exclusive to the PC.

No, the difference is we don't have to Install and Uninstall the game every time we want to play.We just slip in the disc, sadly pc users don't have this time saving luxury. :(

With TB's of space available now uninstalling isn't really necessary. You just kind of ignore it if you don't want to play.

Pretty much this. Also, I haven't used a disc in.........years. Luxury of digital downloads.

This game sold well enough that it will have a healthy subscriber-base for awhile.

That doesn't mean that hardcore gamers won't move on when the next new thing comes out. Video gaming for hardcore gamers is definitely fad-based. Gamers always need the next new thing.

That said, this game could definitely use some improvements for the long term. Currently, the only thing keeping people playing the game, besides fun of course, is the carrot of getting the ultra-rare weapons. Otherwise, all the best builds and weapons have been determined, so there is zero creativity. The maps are getting stale too. The two new ones are nice but this game needs to have a COD level amount of maps for all the money it pulls in. Maybe more enemies, new objectives, new modes. There needs to be a third factor, which would be challenges like in COD, achievements, or something to unlock. Even something like a hyper-rare weapon (1/100 spectre packs) would be nice.

Will the game die? No, but it will bleed over the summer and people will move on to Borderlands 2 (September?), especially this game's crowd. It won't die however; I don't think you'll ever have a lack of lobbies. You may just notice a decrease in player skill as hardcores move on.

 1. You are assuming that the PC players make up the majority of the player base which isn't true.
 2. Diablo III is gonna suck. Totally going away from what makes Diablo, a Diablo game. D2 was the best.
