while ps3 and xbox most likely wont even notice I think pc will take a big dent, not a "it's dead" dent but I think it will be noticeable. I mean come on its diablo.... borderlands would not be around with out diablo
console people probably don't know how big diablo is on pc though I have not played 3 yet so 3 may suck.
Max Payne 3 will take a chunk out of console players
After Max Payne another chunk of console players will get off for Ghost Recon
After Ghost, Resident Evil 6
After RE6 you'll have Boarderland 2
After Boarderlands 2 you have the juggernaut of this generation COD
After COD you'll have ACIII
Between a Ghost and RE6 PS3 owners will have Starhawk which is actually built for the PS3 so you won't get screwed by the BioWare bull****, and for the Xbox 360 owners after Boarderlands you'lll have Halo 4 which was built for Xbox so you'l have less glitchy **** to deal with.
Its always the newest game for console owners. You won't see the game dead but you'll see a major dent that'll be hard pugging it.
Yep. It's the cascading amount of new games literally on the horizon that may kill ME3's MP sooner rather than later. This is why I think they shouldn't focus on releasing characters and weapons but rather, new game modes and whatnot. Cutting back on weekend challenges certainly doesn't help, either.
AGAIN, Diablo 3 was used as an example. I know it will the PC crowd HARD, not so much the console crowd for obvious reasons...and even though the games are different and cater to different audiences, D3's name is enough to pull a very decent chunk from ME3. On the console end...there are a bunch of other games releasing in the same time span (6-8 weeks) that ME3's been out for, so folks, it's really not early as you think it might be to wait around another 2-3 months for new content that isn't a new weapon or character.
Trust me, I want ME3's MP to last as long as possible and to be as good as it was the first week I played it...for a very long time. But after just a month and a half of the same repetitive stuff, with no news on substantive gameplay modes and additions - it just doesn't bode well, given the releases that are right around the corner. I hope BioWare realizes this, and isn't just content with the moneysinking from those people who are buying packs with real life money.
