Strange Normal Map on Expotron-Exported Models

 Has anybody noticed that when models are created in 3DS Max and exported as an MDB with the Expotron, those models won't look right unless the red channel of their normal map is flipped? You may not notice this if you've been looking at your models with an overhead light source, such as in areas with a skylight. However, if you put the model in an area with no skylight and if you put a light source beside the model, it won't quite look right unless you flip the red channel of its normal map.

I've tried using tazpn's MDB Utilities, and models that are exported with it don't need to have the red channel of their normal map flipped. This doesn't seem to be the case when the model is exported with the Expotron.

Has anybody else noticed this?

Sorry, just noticed that even with tazpn's MDB utilities, the red channel of the normal map needs to be flipped. I never noticed this before because I've been looking at my models in exterior areas.

I haven't noticed this, but maybe i haven't payed that close of attention. Im not sure why this would be since the normal map is made in GIMP or Photoshop. So the bigger question would be...is Faithless back on?

I still haven't decided on what to do with Faithless. I got drawn back into modding when Chaos Wielder emailed me about a promise I made to him 3 years ago to make a creature model for him.Once that's done, my immediate modding goal is to learn to make models faster. The fate of Faithless is still up in the air.
