Sex in the game isn't offensive. It's just tacky.
My feelings about the sexual content in Bioware RPGs are about the same as what I'd feel if a restaurant I liked started hiring cage dancers to bring in more business. Yeah, I can ignore it and still enjoy the food, but the experience is cheapened somewhat.
Your analogy is off. If there were cage dancers in your retruant you could ignore it, but it would still be happening in front of you. That would be offensive. A more accurate analogy would be if there were a series of tastly decorated buttons on your table, that if pressed in the correct order will summon dancers. The dancers will only cheapen the dining experience if you explicitly summon them yourself. In which case, you are solely responsible for it cheapening your dinner.
Similarly in Dragon Age: Origins you have to specifically choose to participate in any sexual events. And in the game, sex is only really subtely hinted at. They never shove the option in your face. In any case it's entirely within the players control. You don't even have to ever go to the brothel if you don't want to. It's entirely possble to go though the game only seeing subtle hints that sexual actions are even possible.
I also disagree that sex in DA:O is tacky. It is largely presented in the way that it happens in real life. At least, as much as a video game of this type can reasonably accomplish.
