My idea for an ending: Right when Shepard is approaching the conduit, Alduin from Skyrim suddenly perches on one of the pillars surrounding it, but then says "Oops, wrong game." and flies away. Right away you would've thought, "Oh hell yeah, Alduin's here to help maybe he'll call in more dragons or he'll summon that fire rain storm that he does." But then he just flies away, then you see Marauder Shields and you remember, "Dammit, I don't wanna do this again."
