Collector Base makes no diff?

So I've played through the campaign twice with two wildy different Paragon and Renegade playthroughs from ME2 characters. I was sure the descision to save the base or destroy it would factor in a huge way your playthrough for ME3. From what I could tell, it doesn't. Aside from one conversation with the reclusive man, who seems to be and do the same things whether he has the base or not, there doesn't seem to be any difference. Are there other tidbits I missed, or is this just another in a long line of seemingly important descisions that actually counted for jack squat?

10 EMS I think it is (Human Reaper brain vs heart as asset). A little different dialogue too.

Seems that way. Really really minimal EMS difference but that's it. Shame, because I really stressed about that decision in ME2.

Well considering stopping the Collectors was the entire focus of the second game, yes. I foolishly thought it would have a great impact.

Here are the different endings.  Saving the Collector's base only gives a few "different" endings.

Haha the Reclusive man. That name actually seems more accurate than Illusive, seeing as how we never see him til the end.
But yea, I was just as bummed as you. There was a great opportunity for some variation there, but I think it went out the window once they started making Cerberus the main antagonist (or at least sharing that role with the Reapers)

so, you haven't actually played the game all the way through have you?

That article is from, like, two days after release.  It's vague and misleading at best.

If you save base, control is your only option with low ems instead of destroy.

Yep. So the whole frickin conclusion of ME2 was imported as 100 or 110 war assets. LOL.

pretty funny. I noticed in my second play through the kasumi decision is COMPLETELY pointless as well.

Yeah. The only affect is whether or not you completed her loyalty quest which not completing it results in splitting between STG assets or Hanar+Drell assets instead of getting them both. How you complete it makes no difference except some dialog.

It matters if you did a really fast run or made really bad choices and didn't play MP, since it makes the good Control or Destroy endings require less EMS.

The Collector Base was basically a decision so big it would be a game-changer. Depending on what you did with it, it would have come back to bite someone hard in their rear. But BioWare doesn't seem to want to punish players for making bad decisions that can lead to awful consequences, so the only way they could resolve this dilemma was by making the decision utterly irrelevant.
Or maybe they were just lazy.

Not only does it not make sense, it breaks the story. I destroyed the collector base, boom... KABLOOEY. Yet the Cerberus base has a mint condition human reaper from it hanging on the wall.

I don't know, but who comes to the ending with absolutely minimal ems?  Didn't everyone want to max this out, um, prior to finding out that the only change was what color your ending was?
