Yeah, probably the past choises are mostly irrilevant (yes, some choises could change the story in tuchanka, but, while that it's a very good piece of writing and one of the best parts in ME3, togheter with Rannoch, in the end it means just a small nuber in the EMS), because the game was geared toward newcomers, forgetting what fans wanted.
And, as i've said, hearing from Gamble that the collector base made a difference because it changes your choises if your ems are less than 3000 it's just insulting to the fanbase.
If they wanted toget newscomers in they could have done some comics to set your previous choises like for ME2, i was pretty astonished when i've heard that without an imported saved game ME3 asks only who died on you...
