Hello everyone,

I searched the forums for some time now and I didn't find anything explaining how to open DLC content. Maybe I was just searching with the wrong keywords or maybe I am that stupid. Anyway, can anyone here explain what one should do in order to be able to edit DLC content ? ... or point me to the right thread

In case I was not clear on the previous text, here's an example:
I got the "dao_prc_promo_me" addon (the one that gives the Blood Dragon Armor). I managed to find the .uti file for the armor (inside the designeritems.erf file) and extract it. Having the file enables me to edit the file (hardcore style ... but still ...). However I don't seem able to put the armor in a regular entry on the item's pallete (so that I can edit it softcore style). I also can't create another armor that looks like the blood dragon armor.

Worse than that, on the Warden's Keep addon I am not even able to open the designeritems.erf file (is it encrypted ?).

I am still not sure if I made myself clear ... just say so if I am required to do some more explaining.

I would imagine that DLC content is 'blocked' from editing.. as to curb piracy and those who might give it away for free.. Dont quote me on this, maybe there is a solution :)

While blocking access to the files would certainly discourage SOME pirates and such, it really is a joke and becomes a game for the hackers on who can break it first. Popular P2P sites had DAO, all the official DLC's, and the Toolset available with cracks/hacks within days of the games release. As is the case with all popular games.

I would say that them blocking access to the files is more to protect their ownership of the property. They might unlock them for us eventually, once they make enough money off of it as to not matter if we use their content.

Bioware has hinted that DLC content (and inaccessible elements of the OC) probably will be made available to the toolset eventually.
