Bioware's defense of it is particularly painful. I think its one thing to say you wanted her to be a 'real person' with a face model, and another to rely on [free] stock photos. It wouldn't have taken more than an afternoon to find some chick and shoot your own image.

Edit: And if you didn't have the time or money to take that afternoon? Don't do it at all.

lol I literally JUST saw that pic on DA. this is much better than what BW gave us, I'm pretty sure almost anything is better. It's like they deliberately went out of their way to tick the players off.

Lol told you, I live and BREATH if I could EAT art, I am ALWAYS on Deviant Art, I need a new computer to continue my digital designs but for now I'm taking a break until I get the money. But I am always at DA, I'm more there then I am on my damn facebook.

Ever since I found out how they handled Tali's face I've believed that what they should have done (assuming they didn't create a character model), is hold a fan contest to create it. There have been so many amazing fanarts created, all of them leaps and bounds better than the shoop Bioware created. They would have gotten a better image and it would have been a big tip of the hat to the fans.

Not when the Codex says that Quarians are similar to humans, they have two eyes, a nose, teeth, lips and hair. It doesn't say anything about having a detachable face or anything like that.

Chobot got a full game model because she blew a PSP on youtube. Some Bioware geek decided it would be awesome to put her in the game. Just thinking about her makes me want to

The lazyness off the whole thing however, is appalling. She's the most popular character in the game after Garrus, for gods sake. She deserved a 3D reveal! Yet BioWare obviously felt that rendering Diana Allers into the game was a bigger priority. It's....mind-boggling.

Allers got more screentime than even the Rachni queen. That says a lot.

Fans have come up with true 'Tali' for me. My retcon of ME3 was 'Joker pulled a joke on me with that picture'

That is very well done, but from the picture from the Mass Effect comics that someone posted on these forums, that's almost exactly what female turians look like. At any rate, I don't think quarians would have hair, and if they do, it certainly wouldn't be as well groomed as the picture they used in the game. They spend virtually their entire lives in their suits.

When you look at how easily fans have been making 3d models of potential faces for Tali there really is no excuse for the poor quality photo shop image that doesn't even make sense in the context of the universe. It is just a lazy piece of work and there is no reason for such a photo to exist in the mass effect universe.

As to who rushed them? That's obvious. I would rather they didn't reveal her face than what they did. A 5 minute photoshop job for one of the main characters of the series? Are you frigging kidding me? I would love to see Bioware defend this with artistic integrity as well, if they haven't already.

They did, someone linked me the video from PAX of the panel claiming they went through 1,000's of Stock Art photo's and couldn't fine anything. 1. they could of used Tali Voice Actress or 2. Pay an artist from any of dozen of artistic websites like Deviant Art and rendered it into the game.

Sorry Bioware this is called Laziness.

I did not like it , I did not want her to look up at all. We already have a race that faces look just like human.. And they gave us another one . If this was star Trek were they have had to be worry abuts and call this stuff. I could understand , but really a video game should not call back into that .


Also to add,  I am not sure on this so don't quote be. However I think someone found the stock photo that they used .

I am not sure if this is real but this is a the claim made by some .

As an artist I was very dissapointed at what I saw, I praised Bioware for years on your artist designs. I went to college for Animation and 3D modeling because my goal was to achevie a position at Bioware or any other gaming industry. But from what I saw from you're last game of the serious even before that on Dragon Age 2, I'm truly sorry but I wasn't impressed, what happened to you guys? What or who made you rush you're development?

It's been a month later and I still can't bring myself to play your game again, my mind wants me to but my heart says no because you really let me down.

Lets forget about the ending for a second..I don't care..fine choose 3 different choices, I don't care. What really REALLY made me so firious was Tali's photoshoped photo, I don't understand why couldn't you hire or pay someone from maybe Deviant Art to use they're art as the photo for Tali? It really couldn have been that hars right? as a fellow Tali fan that is really unacceptable.

The only way your going to get me back into the game Bioware is if you fix her photo an update or a DLC, hell I'll pay for a fix on the photo, like I said before as an artist that is just heart breaking. But until I get an answer on this if its a yes your working on it...Great I'm down to play a lot more runs..if not..then I'm sorry im going to have to unfortunally stop playing the game and buying anymore of your prodcuts

I know this may be silly for some but you need to look at it as an artist perspective and having you're heart break seen all this rushed art in the game, call me what you want..if you want to ban me bioware that's fine but I'm literally about to cry because it really hurts.

I think the "photo ending" was acceptable with the destroy the geth option(minus the lack of originality with the photo). But I think it would have been better if you were able to save both the geth and the quarians, then you would be able to unlock a new appearance for tali. Something simple would be fine, like just her face mask replaced with one of those clear breather masks that Liara and Samara wore.
Maybe something for a DLC?

That's actually a pretty cool idea.
