Am I the only person that actually likes the way she looks in the photo? I mean, call me shallow if you want but I certainatly don't mind it.

The lazyness off the whole thing however, is appalling. She's the most popular character in the game after Garrus, for gods sake. She deserved a 3D reveal! Yet BioWare obviously felt that rendering Diana Allers into the game was a bigger priority. It's....mind-boggling.

Allers got more screentime than even the Rachni queen. That says a lot.

Fans have come up with true 'Tali' for me. My retcon of ME3 was 'Joker pulled a joke on me with that picture'

For me this is the best representation of a maskless Tali.  It just seems to fit her character perfectly imo.
How Bioware could think what they came up with was acceptable is really maddening.  Half-assed like a lot of the aspects of ME3.  Forshame Bioware

Just want to drop in and say, as a fellow artist, I feel you SirPounceAlot. I do.

It annoys me how BioWare seem to hide behind what they like to call "artistic integrity". Labeling a product as art doesn't give you a get out of jail free card.

The ME series as a whole has simply amazing artwork and design. This Tali deal just doesn't match!

Disappointing.

Now I'm reading both conversations here and on Mass Effect's 2 facebook Wall, people keep mentioning that shes too "Humanoid" or the Quarians are too "Humanoid", I really don't understand that comment. What did you guys honestly want to have them look like? I think they look fine the way they are. So what if they had Hair or not...maybe they took their mask off when they had some down time?

But as for Tali, yes I expected more, I expected Detail, a beautiful cinematic of her taking it off with a detail rendering of her face or photo. Either way that photoshopped photo is a disgrace.

I just didn't like she looked like Miranda in a quarian suit..... I'm fine with them being "humanoid".

Honestly as long as it makes sense according to the established lore, almost anything goes.
You know what the Codex says about quarians. IIRC Rannoch lacks insect life, instead the animal life (and the quarians themselves) live in some kind of symbiosis with the environment.
For that purpose I always assumed quarians needed to have some kind of features that would allow them to carry out roles similar to  those of insects in our ecosystems. You know, something that reflects the lore.
Then again, quarians are described as the most human-looking species when it comes to the face/hair.

I do think making every other alien look like a human but with different skin color is kind of cheap, though. However if it's done right, I'm okay with it.

So okay, I would've prefered to have them look a bit more alien but at this point I'm happy with anything that isn't a Photoshopped stock photo.
Oh, and having that amount of hair stuck in a tight suit just seems impractical.

Bioware honestly just needs to start from scratch and have everyone focus on one thing at a time and pretend this isnt the 3rd game,so they can feel it more.

The controversy over Tali’s photo has led to some heated arguments, but while thinking about her photo and where it came from I found myself penning this scene to explain it in a bit more detail... Enjoy.

INT. NORMANDY ENGINEERING.

SHEPARD:
Hey, Tali. You busy?

TALI:
Always. Just repairing the heat sinks in the propulsion system - The diffusers overloaded when I rerouted the heat flow. It works on quarian ships. Well, long story, but I think I can steal a moment with you.

SHEPARD:
I wanted to thank you for your photo. It’s beautiful. I’m impressed you found time to pose for it.

TALI:
I didn’t. Those pictures are extremely popular among the flotilla, but because of the sterile environment we rarely get a chance to sit for portraits.

SHEPARD:
Oh, I just assumed…

TALI:
Most quarians are reluctant to remove their helmets even in clean rooms, and it’s especially difficult if someone else is present. A digital artist put that together for me using my suits biometric data and epidermal sensor logs.

SHEPARD:
Really? He does good work.

TALI:
It’s not bad. I’m not crazy about the lens-flare, and I don’t think he got my hand quite right.

SHEPARD:
Maybe he was rushed. You did say the portraits were popular.

TALI:
True. It was a last minute decision. But, this was important. I wanted to give you something special.

SHEPARD:
I did get something special, Tali. I got you.

TALI:
(Laughs) And just like that the magic is gone.

SHEPARD:
I need more practice sweet-talking, don’t I?

TALI:
We can work on it. That, and your dancing…

I agree, beyond the ending the Tali photo was a huge let down.

"It's been a month later and I still can't bring myself to play your game
again, my mind wants me to but my heart says no because you really let
me down."

My doughter is going to school for art/3D and she played ME3 and she said"wow I could have sent them a better picture"

I felt tehy should have had a mdle and given her a cut scean on her home planet, then at the end if EMS was 100% and all quests done let her and shep spend a few minutes at the end too

another fail

Good post nice pic too thanks

She looks very similar to what she does in the game picture. What boggled me was it was a picture of her sitting in a field with no suit lol.
