One video was for Zaeed shooting his mattock like an avenger, the other was for Shepard. It isn't all that hard to figure out, if you would actually read my posts.

Except that for the second video you were talking about Liara, not Shepard. Being specific, as I constantly tell my students, is a good thing, it makes sure that people understand exactly what you mean.

This only happens occaisionally to me, usually my Shepard is holding whatever sniper rifle I have equipped at the time. I don't really mind if I find him holding onto a different gun, though.

Really? I didn't notice it in ME1.

It happend a lot in ME1. You probably just forgot. Also happened consistently in ME2. shepard would switch guns, Miranda holds assault rifles. All of it. 

In ME1 everyone had a full set of weapons and they displayed properly in cutscenes. It did look out of place when Liara or Tali would use an assault rifle when they couldn't specialize in them, but that can be forgiven for showing the weapon they were carrying.

In ME3 I ended up using the Avenger and Predator weapons for the whole game becouse it really bugged me.

Confirmed today that it has nothing to do with whether the gun is firing. Had a cutscene today (somewhere, can't remember, between Tuchanka and the Geth Dreadnought) and Shep fired the Phaeston in cutscene.

Yeah, it's horrible. Last night I played on my infiltrator, who's packing a Black Widow, Locust and Paladin, and in the cut-scenes in the Cerberus base, she suddenly had an Avenger?=/ I'm packing 3 different weapons, and I still get the magic Avenger? Come on..

Before slamming me for using the Locust; I only brought it to see if this in fact would happen, which it did =P

Captain_Obvious_au, you were wrong this time.

Now, on topic about this whole gun-swapping thing, it's not all that horrible. It happened in all three games, perhaps more in this game, but I wasn't particularly bothered by it, compared to other issues. I just accept that it isn't always possible to have your equipped weapons show for all cutscenes.
