Make it for the iOS/Android/WP7/Blackberry-Why exclude any of your customer base if you don't have to?

I dunno, isn't it too late now for this? It made sense during launch, now I don't really care. If they don't want my money it's their problem.

Why do they release all the adorable applications iOS exclusively? Infiltrators, Datapad.. I mean, they don't even release any games on OSX anyways.

Only if you don't count Dragon Age as an OSX game aside from Force Unleashed (I can't think of anything else that got released for OSX, not even sure what is available on STEAM for that very small crowd), but yeah exclusive to a platform I ditched over six months ago is very narrow minded, that's like making shoes exlusively in one size.

There may well be millions of those iOS devices out there, but there is an equal Android audience and should get the same apps/games the same time the iOS platform does.

I would love to get this on Android, but I suspect it will not happen. Reason being, there are more Android devices out there in use than iOS devices. EA must, therefore, have a deal going with Apple because it doesn't make commercial sense otherwise.

No link to the game OS makes sense though. Yes ME3 wasn't released on MACos. Neither was it released on Linux (Android is a Linux build after all). By that logic Datapad should only have been released on Windows phones. Then no-one would have seen it at all...

Again with this.
Ios, develop once runs everywhere. Older iOS versions that it may not support aren't supported by apple either.
Android, which flavor? In some cases, which device running which flavor? Fragmentation is a mess on that side and it's debatable if it's worth the bother.
Make it a web app and be done.

Fragmentation is not an issue for Android. That is generally nonsense. Unless the app needs advanced features from later OS versions (clearly not an issue here) or requires advanced hardware (such a high power graphics acceleration) then Android apps are all backwards compatible. Same issues as with iOS. Unless the app is poorly written of course, or you need compatibility with very old versions of Android that are all but out of use.

You don't tend to see multiple versions of apps on Android Market to cope with fragmentation. That's because it's a problem largely invented by Apple fanbois.

Other really should be simultaneous releases across both iOS and Android in this day and age, especially from a huge publisher like EA. Very dissapointed about the state of the mobile apps.

how about they just honour pre release commitments and allow you to access the best endeing just with single player?

I think you'll find many 'ending' threads more appropriate to your needs, Krogangreetings and paul165. This isn't one of them. Could you take a look at the thread subject before posting please? Thanks, it will be appreciated. :)~

Swerving back on topic...

Yes, there is no excuse for this poor mobile release strategy unless there is a contract with Apple. That's why I suspect we'll never see an Android version of Datapad.

Does anyone know of a way I can run Datapad on my Windows7 netbook? Such an approach may be the only work around we're going to get and may be the best direction for us to investigate if we want to self help. Practical iOS emulators for Android will take a little while yet.

I may take a look at knocking up a quick Hackintosh as I believe there is an iOS simulator on that? I suspect it will not have proper internet access though as it isn't a VM...

Maybe if you can get the filewithout an  iDevice, you could use something like Ipadian. If you can, share it  ;)

Please please please!

I've been borrowing my husband's iPad/iPhone but he's starting to go nuts. I have an Android tablet that I'd love to use the apps on.

Still won't be of any use on my phone if it's Android, but meh, it's a start. :D
