I was at PAX, and asked Patrick Weeks and John Dombrow just that! They said it was Liara sharing a final moment, and giving you, literally, everything. The universe. Just two very close people sharing the most intimate of moments possible.

I liked Liara's goodbye the most, even though I wasn't romancing her.  I thought it was beautiful.

Then people are saying that she impregnated herself and I'm like wtffffff... I doubt it's the case; it would have ruined an otherwise perfect moment in the ending.

Congratulations you are now a father/mother!

No matter what sex shepard is....Shep would be the father.:innocent:

How can a woman be a father?

Well, that femal Shep is not going to pop them out.

I think it will be Male/femshep that will become pregnant

...Are you real?....
Asari can't inpregnate other races. Other races inpregnate them...It only works one way...The only one that an Asari can inpregnate is another Asari.

I figured if you were a couple you've already got the gift of a blue bundle on the way. It's pretty much an epic farewell for the love interest and for everyone else it was just a final moment between friends.

Though I admit the threads on "did Liara just molest me" were pretty funny.

A moment of peace and clarity amongst the chaos. You merged consciousnesses I believe, shared memories. It's a show of friendship the Asari display to those closest to them.

Alright for those who romanced her, maybe a bit strange for those who didn't, although I'm not entirely sure what happens in this situation if you didn't.

It's pretty much the same for non-romances, but she puts her head on your shoulder instead of kissing you.

Weak.

That's seems like a bit over the line if you romanced someone else.

It would probably be much stronger if it was romance exclusive, providing other people got something similar with their hook-ups.

I'm sorry..I guess I'm on eof those people who likes the non-li version. Also, it seems that I am of the few people who understand how much Liara love Shepard, even when not romanicly involved.

Did I say you had to agree? No, remember that next time.

You must beone the who did not notice you can say no to her.

I never would, since I romanced her in all of my playthroughs that I carried over.

Regardless, did you know exactly what would happen before you make that choice?

In hindsight, it might too intimate if you didn't romance her. Just an observation.

discomfort with that scene? It's easy... reject her gift.

It's not like you say F off to her, I choose that choice and give a word for her instead
then I pretend that she never talk about that gift.

don't know why writer try too force her on us so much...

I thought her gift was a moment of absolute peace in a war, that's how I saw it anyway.

I think that she just showed Shepard that she kept loving him/her this whole time - either Shepard was a friend or a lover. For me, it was sad and beautiful in the same time and that pretty much explained why she kept being alone through all 3 games, why she went through such lengths to save Shepard, etc.

Another moment where Bioware is screaming at you to romance Liara. No. I don't want to romance Liara. Cut it out.

It was a moment of peace and quiet.

It was emphatically not melding, which is a process that takes more on the order of hours than seconds. (The mother actually needs to pick all the desirable traits from the father in melding. That's not a 5-second job.)

I interpreted as a moment of peace in an ocean of chaos. No battle sounds, no screams of the dying, no cries of husks drifting across the battlefield. Just complete and total tranquility; at a time where it's impossible to come by.

For me, it was a chance for my Shepard and Liara to truly be alone, removed from all the death and destruction.

I loved that scene.  It was simple yet beautiful.  Bravo Bioware for including that scene.

And please, please give us the option to reunite with Liara, and make that vision a reality.

I can feel the man tears already...  :crying:

It was melding. There's no distinct term for mating and non-mating melding.

In ME1, Liara referred to the mating/sexy melding as a "union", but that term seems to have disappeared.

This.  A pause, an acknowledgement of companionship, the sharing of a smile, and a deep breath before the storm....
