What the hell was that shared vision thing that Liara blessed Shepard with? There is not one thing about that vision that made any sense to me. I'm hoping someone here will have some insight that I obviously lack. Seriously, it seemed to me that Liara was saying "when you jump into the bright white beam, I'll be there with you." or something like that.

It was memories of her college days. Unfortunately due to copyright issues you don't get to hear the Dark Side of the Moon album playing during that scene.

Not too get too technical, but rape implies lack of consent. Liara explicitly asks Shepard for consent prior to the event. It's not the writers fault if bloody idiot players mash space and don't like the outcome.

She asked for consent for sharing of memories between friends.

Which doesn't count as consent for baby making, if you're silly enough to put that interpretation on the scene.

She shared a gift of memories with Shepard, as a close friend. Nothing more.

lol why are some people actively bothered by LIara liking you no matter what?

So if a nice, funny, smart, sexy and bada*s girl acted like she was romantically interested in you no matter who you were with you would be pissed off?

Ooooook there champ....lol

I made an intelligent reply to this quote, but then I realised I would just be wasting my time.

As a Shep who's romance was only Liara from ME1-3: When I reached this point and she was asking me if I wanted her gift, I thought for sure that it would be a vision of all the "Little blue children"... or maybe a mind-vision of the baby growing inside her (a cooler version of an ultra-sound, for example).

I was extremely let down by the vision.

I feel as though it was yet another victim of the budget/schedule crunch. It was just a major missed opportunity. And I can't believe BW would just flat-out miss that chance (aside from being a major emotional scene, it would provide an excellent 'choice difference' where it would be much more plain if you weren't a Liara LI) -- its gotta be due to the rush-job.

Why would it be a vision of children? Asari mind meld are notlike that. What she just showed you was everything she is.

Everything she is, is an empty black screen with a planet and bright light?  Bleh.

Can't argue how mind-melds work.  I'm not a codex memorizer, as I do have an outside-life.  All I know is that was a perfect moment to find out there's a deeper meaning to their relationship, and instead we got a whole lot o' nothing.

I didn't need a mind-meld.  All I really hoped for at that moment was she'd put Shep's hand on her stomach so he could feel a baby kick.  It's called story progression.

I think it was them concieving a child together. Why else would after shep talks about blue children in ME2, then Liara mentions them agian at the end of ME3.

Because I never romanced Liara, ever.

She was like "Lulwut?? But... but....."

I'm like.... "Mindblown =/= good idea before a fight..."

She's like.... "Uhhhh okay then... GL Shepard!"

Damn, she didn't even take my Femshep out for breakfast the next day either.  I knew she was only in it for the money.

You know it is. You wait all your life to share you memories with someone then at the last moment you get memory anxiety, forget what you were going to show them so it's just one great mass of blankness.

Ah yes, the "I'm so smart and above you that any argument I make would be wasted on you" defense. Yes, yes, that doesn't make you look extremely condescending, puerile and arrogant. Noooo, not at all.

Of course, it was a memory... the memory of her going out of the womb.
