Proper spell protection removal order for Liches?

In general you need to use 6th, or higher, level spells against Liches. There are exceptions to this, but it is a useful rule of thumb. Pierce will do the job for you.

Don't think there is any way to work around that in the vanilla version of the game (I could be wrong though, haven't touch the game in a while). However, if you have a certain mod (such as SCSII and Spell revision) installed it is a different story.
