I give it a 9.5 right up until until the last 10 minutes. Then I subtract 1 point per minute for the HORRIBLE end sequence when the game totally deteriorated. Total: 0.5. The "reviewers" obviously did not play thru the ending.

I might use that system as well but maybe .1 per minute.

An ending can either make you wish it were over or make you wanting more. In ME1 & 2 it made me want more but ME3's was embarrassingly bad and just wanted it to end so Bioware could maintain at least a little of artistic integrity.

How is this possible?

How?

How is it even possible for the game to get a 9? Meaning it only had MINIMAL problems.

It's things like this that lead one to believe.....(okay, don't want to get banned...yet)

But gimme a break. There are so many issues with this game and when you compare it to the likes of GTA 4,

HAHAHA oh silly you. You made me laugh right there.

Not saying ME3 had barely any bugs.  It's just that GTA 4 had so many f'n bugs, it was just hilarious at some point.

So really....were the reviewers either on crack cocaine skonta riga? Or.....again....don't want to go down that road....

Most of the reviewers didnt finish the game

Ill forgive the bugs in GTA 4, did not experience that many, and still applaud them for taking A LOT MORE TIME in creating an incredibly detailed game that required a lot more effort than the Action "rpg" ME3.

The problems lies in all the benifits of giving big games good reviews, the games will advertise for them, invite them to exclusive game-related parties/events etc etc.. There's obvious preferential treatment towards reviewers from big sites that give positive reviews, as opposed to the reviewers that give negative/less positive ones..

Imo, reviewers have too much to gain by giving high scores to bigger games for me to ever trust their neutrality. And regardless of actual intent, giving perfect scores to an game with obvious flaws will always result in people questioning the nature of the review.

Like IGN, 10/10 with their very own character implemented into the game.. Doesn't exactly help on the trust front, regardless of actual intent or why/how it happened.

Because a the game industry subsidized the gaming media. They are "PRO's" So people who actually play the games for enjoyment aren't articulate enough to be a critique.. At least by EA/ BIOWARE/ Game Media Standards... Last time I get belittled by the people I buy from. Cancelled all my game informers. Swtor, won't buy DLC, play Multiplar for ME3.

I'd like to see an honest review for this game. Not just trashing it...but just an honest review.

Sadly I think most video game critics/reviewers are bought under the table.  I've seen absolutely horrible games get like 9/10 & GOTY.

Great review scores are not given out on merit anymore... I noticed this trend years back.

Mass Effect 3 is a very good solid to great game but it does have its flaws and you can see them in the intro, in how they handled TIM and Cerberus and the missions starting after Rannoch. Rannoch is the high point of the game but everything starts to go down hill after that.

I'd say one issue is the lack of integrity and honest criticism from the reviewers in the gaming industry. Many throw around high scores way too often.

I also assume most of these reviewers probably played through the Tuchanka story arc, give or take a few hours. They experienced the best section of the game, left on a high, and threw out an inflated score, assuming the rest of the game was just as good. (I'd not have given a perfect score, at that point, but it would've been really good.)

Is this what happened? Who knows? It makes sense, though.

If you grade the ending with the same weight as every other part of the game (i.e. it's no more/less important than the rest), then the game is nearly perfect. Unfortunately, the ending should weigh much more than the rest of the game.

It's not nearly perfect. Many people throughout the forums, as well as outside of them, have brought up scores of issues explaining why the rest of the game is fairly average. It is still enjoyable and playable, but hardly perfect.

- it's average as an RPG regarding player choice, number of PCs, and character development
- it's average as far as graphics are concerned
- it's quite good regarding voice acting and music
- it's below average as a shooter
- it has almost no value away from the main storyline, limiting it's scope to equal to a shooter
- it's average regarding game mechanics, bringing no innovation at all
- it has numerous plotholes and a very poor ending

Overall, it's an average game. It's still better than DA2, if that's any help.
