When Loghain shows up, I'd really rather have it be more than a quick "Hi! I'm Loghain and I'm still alive!" moment, you know?
You heard it here first people: David Gaider confirms that the douchey section of Orlais will invade Ferelden again and we'll get our epic moment of Loghain overturning tables, punching Orlesians, and riding a horse in the midnight rain to defend Ferelden again.
HE IS BOUND BY THE BLOOD OATH HE HAS NOW SIGNED.

All joking aside, there is actually great cause for Orlais to try and conquer Ferelden again besides the fact that some of them want to do so. I imagine that were Ferelden to shield the Divine like I believe they'll do -- as well as the Mages -- then a good portion or even half of Orlais would not be happy that the Divine is operating out of Ferelden and they would want her back.
Possibly even because they're supporting the New Inquisition. Or maybe because they fear that Ferelden will have influence over Thedas and not Orlais.
Which would give Loghain a rather prominent role -- dependent on if he's alive. Otherwise just assign the role to someone else or have the moments be entirely Loghain-centric -- in the conflict if Ferelden was to be the base of operations of DAIII.
So I can easily see Loghain having a great deal of importance in the Mage-Templar/Orlais-Ferelden conflict. Hell, perhaps his life could influence how much of Ferelden is conquered in the early stages, should Orlais invade again.
If he's alive: barely any land if at all is conquered. If he's dead: Ferelden loses a fair chunk of land at first. But I doubt that Orlais would actually
succeed in reconquering Ferelden, because Ferelden is the land of awesomesauce.
Also, Messere Gaider, if I might ask: Though I don't know how you'll end The Silent Grove, could you give us some insight on the Alistair-Loghain relationship now if Alistair is king and Loghain is still alive, especially in regards to a certain bearded fellow?
I realize there's still some animosity held because of what Alistair said in DAII's King Alistair quest, but I wonder: Suppose in my personal canon King Alistair + Queen Anora world that Loghain is still alive. Would Alistair have sent a secret, possibly ciphered, missive to Loghain informing him of what he was about to do?
