So, I've been busy, and sitting on the last 2 missions for a while now, and finally finished it just now. And here is what I have to say.

I have been an adamant Mass Effect fan ever since I first
played ME1. These games were revolutionary. Allowing player FULL control over
the outcomes of the game. (Of which there were a few). My choices finally
mattered, and for once, I played a game where I had to make difficult decision,
and was rewarded or punished for them. For the first time, my teammates were
vulnerable, and I actually had to protect them. This game made me love space
again, and renewed my faith in the art of storytelling through a game. Now, I
know this all has been said before, and this post will get piled under the rest
and forgotten, but here is how I see things.

Mass Effect 3 was amazing. However, it lacked 2 important
things. First, there were no side stories!. Do you remember scouring the galaxy
in ME1, landing on planets and exploring them, finding hidden Cerberus bases
and learning whole story lines that weren’t part of the main arch? This was not
present in ME3, and can be fixed with DLC, hopefully.

The Next, and most important reason this game made me sad
was the ending. Having a sad, sacrificial ending is fine. However, we should be
able to have whatever ending we want! We were railroaded into a feeling of
loss. Regardless of who lives or dies, it doesn’t matter, because the Mass
Relays are gone! We will never see another world for another 100k years! And,
the story after the cut scene only makes it worse. It reaffirms the loss that
is caused by killing/controlling/ or becoming one with the reapers. I want a
happy ending =(.

  I suppose this
is just my way to vent. I still love you BioWare! Just please understand, as a
devout fan, I want more adventures with Shepard, possibly cleaning up this mess
and finding out how to remake the relays. Please?

I personally have come to the conclusion that the story goes down the drain the second you come out of relay back into the Sol system, I like to think some idiot marketer marched in and forced the creators to make an ending to shove down our throats so they could release the game sooner rather then have a decent conclusion.

Why is that their are only a handful of rational fans like OP who handle their disappointment maturely and with dignity while the much larger chunk devolves into meme spouting, hyperbole using, out of control dissident who want to see bioware charged with false advertising and close down forever.

We need more fans like you, who can put things in proper perspective.

Theres actually only a few rabid fans that can't form a proper argument. Unfortunately, shouting manically tends to drown out intelligent discussion.

Because many of us have already had the mature intelligent discussions.

I don't think they actually drown out the discussion at all, the other side just use them (unjustifiably) as a way to ignore valid points by claiming we're all like that. The problem is with BioWare's apologists, not the noisier fans.

Thanks for all the comfort everyone. Haha, I'm glad it is a common feeling. I do believe BW has our best interests in mind, seeing that they are open to 'changes'. Hell, would it be too much to just ask for a sneaky 4th game? They can pull a Halo and 'end' the series with another 3-6 games.....

ME3 wasn't intended to finish the series, just Shepard and the Reapers story. More games were always on the cards.
