There are quite a few forks in the road in this game. I havent "cleansed" the circle before so Im just curious as to what happens when i go the route.

Im also curious about the Sacred Ashes part.

Is there any benifit from doing this? Seems all im doing is pissing people off... I figured Alister wouldnt mind me cleansing the circle... seems I was wrong.

If you feel wrong for killing Wynne... don't do it.

There are benefits for taking either route, really. For example, if you haven't played your cards EXTREMELY right with Morrigan, you'll always lose points with her for letting Wynne live (you can get around this with earlier dialogue choices and/or very high Coercion/Cunning).

Really though you should do what you think is best for your character, that's really the spirit of an RPG like this.

you can cleanse the circle and keep wynne. just pretend you're saving the circle until the very last moment, then say that you don't know how many have turned.

(spoilers)

the result will be that wynne lives, goes with you, and the circle is cleared of mages willingly on irving's command. gregoir agrees to fight for you, meaning you have a templar army, and the circle will be replenished with mages from other circles eventually.

So do you have to save irving? or is it possible to let him die or kill him?

First off Loetek, BAD ARSE character look!!! Second, it's a game brosif, your character is NOT you. What would your CHARACTER do and What would YOU do are two TOTALLY different questions. ;)

How do you feel killing an old woman who can help you clean your room, mend your socks, and treat your wounds after each battle? Even if this is just a game, morality still tells that its wrong and I can't bear the guilt, well perhaps the first 30 minutes and after a while contemplating while your helm is handed to you over and over in the final onslaught.

Thanks Xantor! And I know its just a game... just hard you know :(

I just dont like how the hooker tries pushing herself in my group. My PC already made a promise to the Templars... he cant go back on his word...

Dude, I wouldn't kill her. I'm a warrior and her spirit healing is invaluable. Morrigan has gone to the wayside since I use Wynne in every battle I'm doing now. She has 3 offensive spells (Rockfist, Mind Blast, and Arcane Bolt) and the rest are support healing spells.

Whether you kill the cirlce or not, try your best to get and retain Wynne.

If you feel wrong for killing Wynne you should. Unless you are playing a mage killing Wynne means you are stuck with Morrigan as a healer, and then SPOILER ALERT unless you take her deal and spawn the demon child you have to go face the archdemon with reliance on poultices only good luck with that. I may be know as the president of the "Morrigan Sucks and not even in the good way" club so killing Wynne is never an option since play through number 3. I build the team around the class i am playing at the time but even as a mage i still keep Wynne in the party which means i can do DPS and rely on Wynne to do the bulk of healing, even though i am required sometimes to suppliment her heals during some difficult fights. Wynne can be a bit annoying with the i am old dialog but it is far less annoying than Morrigan even if you romance her.

I have 6 completed play throughs and even with the current run i still keep Wynne, as a matter of fact i do the mage tower first every run for 2 reasons, i want to get it out of the way and i want wynne she just makes everything you do after you get her easier.

To each his own.

On my third playthrough, finally playing as a mage, I killed Wynne. The only real regret I have about it is that I don't get her special encounter, so one less fun boss fight.

Admittedly, my character is specialized AW/SH, and Morrigan is SS/SH, so I'm not really hurting for heals, but since I'm using 2-handed Sten as a tank, I need them.

I didn't really want to kill her, necessarily, but my character didn't want anything to do with her, and since your only choices are take her along or kill her...my character killed her.

Didnt want to kill her. She disliked what I said and went after me. I wont regret killing anyone who tries to kill me. No matter how old they are. Damn...half of those mages out there might be 200yrs old...

I thought it was possible to refuse her help when she offers to go with you after you save the Circle.  I haven't ever taken that option, but I distinctly remember it being one of the conversation choices.

In my last playthrough, my rogue was helplessly in love with Morrigan so he decided it was best to clean out the "sissy mages". When I agreed with the Templars, Wynne all of a sudden attacked me. I had no choice but to kill her. It was her decision.

To be fair, it's not like you didn't provoke her. Even Gregior himself didn't think it was that great an idea, and he's pretty much the biggest mage-hater in the game.

I developed a lot of respect for Gregior when he tells Cullen to stop his cowardly mewling and man up. :wizard:

Killing her is a no loss no gain. I just kept the old bat alive to make sammiches in the camp.

I'm going to kill her my next playthrough. My last playthrough was the first time I used a party that had no access at all to healing spells and it worked out just fine. With the right tactics (and no I don't use the taunt and force field exploit) and enough money spent on ingredients for potions a dedicated healer just isn't necessary.

wynne deserved to die ... so touchy about killing a few mages while the whole tower was as good as dead ... or worse. anyway she cast first so i'm pleading self defense caused by my rude interruption of her diabolic preservation rite to prepare innocent mage children for their new life as abomination.
i can not tolerate such things as arcane horror wannabee when these acts are not performed for myself but for some third party which i can not even ally with in a game like this! :P
