I did a search and couldn't find a thread on this.

So out of interest has ANYONE ever put Udina on the Council? To me Mass Effect does it's best to portray Udina poorly and as such makes it extremely unlikely people will put him on the Council. I predictably chose Andersen because I didn't respect or trust Udina.

Has anyone here put Udina on the Council? And if so, why?

I always do. Anderson is a soldier not a politician.

I always support Anderson as he puts his career/life on the line to help Shepard while Udina just gets in the way.
Unfortunately, Bioware always puts Udina in charge...(leading to the question of why did they offer a choice?)

Udina knows the stuff and Anderson can't handle politics, which is why he quits between ME2 and 3. ME:Ascension explain that, though I can't really recall the exact reason now.

I just read that book, I think he kept doing things the military way to get results and the council didn't like that.

I've done it a couple of times with my more renegade Sheps. Heh, really cracked up the one time when I flat out said I let the council die...eh, cannot remember the exact wording now, but it was more or less "Screw 'em, what did they ever do for me" and Anderson was like "GOod God man, how can you say that?" Yep, picked Udina for that one.

That's one of the few things I really was disappointed wasn't carried over to ME2...the all human council if you chose that reason for letting the council die.

I actually edited my ME2 savegame and changed it to Udina.

I basically ignored what is actually in the game and assumed that democracy is still state of the art. I wanted the game to acknowledge that Udina is the most likely choice for anyone who should have a say.
