I use an SI with a widow or jav. Neither leave me with any sort of cooldown.

So, I tend to use TC, then pop ED and fire. Or if the sheilds are stripped, I'll use TC launch a tac mine at the target and fire.

Keeps the cooldowns at 3 seconds every time. And the tac. mine either hits first allowing my bullet to make the head shot kill, or it hits after the head shot and finishes that last bar of armor, etc. for the kill.

I find that they don't always explode so using them as a secondary bullet works well.

Dumb prox mine lovers...

It's glitched you point at one place and appears 10 feet to the right. Don't tell me it's my aim when i purposely tested it and it's unaccurate.

You know how many times i've fired it from cover and had it stuck in the cover i was shooting from.

Sabotage, Hunter mode and energy drain are better by far and when i mean by far i mean Perseus Veil to Citadel Space far. Yeah i went all nerdy on ya asses.

it travels a straight line between your gun and your target reticle.
The thing is when you zoom, you're not actually looking through the barrel of your gun.
your gun is still being held how it was before you zoomed in.

and yes the trajectory differs a bit from gun to gun.
but otherwise it's laser accurate.

*cough whiny bum*

Mmmm no. Well, yes and no. For certain play styles the other powers have some advantage over proxy mines. They are instant (HM always on) and work quite well from a great distance. They cannot, however, setup a multi-kill nearly as fast as a proxy mine equipped GI. Any of the bursts need some additional prodding before they go off. Not the case when you run into four Centurions, fire a mine at the ground and hit the awesome button. Instantaneous kill. You simply can't do that with anything else - barring Cobra missiles.

I never take proximity mines, but that being said I experimented a little with them the other day.

A really fun build I tried was melee GI, 6/6/6/0/6. At some point, I realized I was fairly effective using only the proximity mine, and proceeded to complete a few rounds without melee and only spamming mines. It was pretty effective, able to two shot pyros and hunters, and definitely different/fun.

Something I'd like to try is 6/6/6/5/3, with radius on the prox mine and focusing everything into power damage (and bonus power). Actually using the mines as a main power is interesting to say the least.

I love proxy mines. The ability to debuff enemies, stun them for awhile while reviving (especially with radius), setting up tech burst, doesn't cancel out biotic (in fact adding more damage to it) are just good and helps in any situation. For both my geth and salarian infiltrator, I rarely skip them. I only put 3 points on fitness. Energy drain is more than enough to survive if I'm low on health, for GI, just turn off hunter mode if I feel like I need an extra shields to go hacking or reviving teammates in mid mobs.

Hard to aim? Aim at the feet or the floor where the enemies at! Guaranteed hit :D
