Ok ok I know Mordin. Does we even need to confirm that? First time I actually shed a tear when someone died.

Oh come on. I am just tired of people complaining about Thane dying in ME 3. He is terminally ill in both ME 2 and 3 so he would probably have died either way. Also mordin is the best of them all followed by Legion.

Touching: Thane (I'm talking about his actual death scene, not the fight scene with Kai Leng, although he was badass!)

Yeah? guess what, I'm tired of people banging on about his terminal illness when Mordin can cure a plague in a matter of weeks, and cure the genophage in months when it was supposed to take years... oh, and lets not forget that Shepard was cured of being dead! Thane is very well connected (close to the shadowbroker) and new treatments for lung conditions were provided in the lore, when romanced he has a new will to live... COME ON... it was it too much to ask for a fricken choice... it really wasn't you know.

The death I think is saddest overall, is Miranda's (romanced). At least she died with the knowledge that her tyrannical father had been stopped, and that she had directly contributed to Cerberus' (and by proxy, the Reapers) downfall.

followed by thane, and then Tali.
Would be interesting to see an epic Garrus death too.

I'd have to say Mordin, he was a Hero.
Who was your favorite death?
+1
He died a hero
Heroic Deaths: Mordin is the most heroic, but don't forget the rest
Mordin died to cure the genophage.
Legion died to grant freedom to the Geth.
Kasumi died to twart a reaper plot from a "Big stupid jellyfish"
Zaeed died to either save a bombing fleet or a
Miranda died to save her sister
Thane/Captain Kirrahe died to save the Salarian Councilor and to discredit the reputation of Kai Leng
Lieutenant Victus saving many lives by defusing a bomb. His actions also helped easing Turian/Krogan tensions.
Grunt: Died stopping a Rachni invasion.
Wrex: Well kind of heroic. Watch this video.
Not so heroic Deaths
Virmire survivor died because: You what? You did what? Why?
Tali killed herself. Wow, very heroic. The death of the Quarian flotilla
wasn't enough, you had to add suicide to the pain. Thanks Tali.
Another not so heroic death: Samara. What kind of code tells you to commit suicide
Can any of these guys die in Mass Effect 3?
Did Jacob die? If so, another not so heroic death. Can't believe Sarah Gail Shepard dated him only to find out he ran off with Dr Bryn Cole. Actually that's probably morally acceptable, but still "This hurts you!"
Liara
EDI
Joker
Javik
Garrus

Wait, Kasumi and Zaeed can die? I presume this is only if they weren't loyal in ME2 and somehow survived the suicide mission.
Yep. I believe Kasumi dies when the computer terminal explodes in her face. I have no idea how Zaeed dies. Off screen, IIRC.

Well said, Annie.
Mordin's death was one of the few I thought they did well (and it's avoidable).
Miranda's death (if romanced) was touching. I didn't romance her but I watched it on youtube. The characters got to say everything they needed to say and there was closure. It was also optional.
Legion's death happened so quick. I wasn't even clear on WHY he needed to die to upload the code. I felt like his death was forced for dramatic effect. I was sad because I love Legion but at least his sacrifice was to help his race. It had meaning in that sense.
With Thane's death I felt cheated because it felt so contrived, badly done and ultimately pointless. What a horrible end to a great character.

Don't give me that crap. It's been stated over and over again that neither the hanar nor the salarians and Mordin himself have been able to find a cure. And even then, If they did find a cure in ME3, Thane himself stated that he was too far along for anything to help. I would have rather have had him go out like the badass he was, fighting for the greater good, than passing away quietly in a hopstipal bed. That's just not a believable end to a character like Thane. It's okay to be upset about your favorite character dying, and I was enraged with Kai Leng afterwards (really, who DIDN'T kill him with the renegade interrupt?), but to ask for any other ending to Thane's life would be either a ignore established ME lore, or simply be a disservice to Thane himself. Let it go.
