Whoah whoah! Not talking about underage girls. I apologize for using the colloquial term "girls" I used that term for women in their 40s.

i have also seen some vids of some very pretty girls talking about the game. i have a friend who played it occasionally but i dont know anyone besides people at the game store who played it, including females.

wish my wife would playing games, but she cant even play LIMBO (PC) properly. seriously, she plays it with 2 hands and still sucks at it.

LOL, this is my life. I work in tech, most guys are tech geeks but none play ME so far as I'm aware. No female from any of my past relationships ever played video games, not my ex wife, not any of my previous girlfriends, not even my current fiance.

I work as a graphic designer, I play rpg's like mass effect and I know plenty of girls who play the games and there is at least one or two female employees at gamestop where I live who play the game.

Maybe that's it.  I don't meet graphic design people on a normal basis.  Honestly, however, there are almost no girls in my profession, and the only women I see work HR or something. Previously, I would meet girls in bars. Since my ex wife was one of those I met at a bar, I swore off bars. I met my fiance online, and this actually seems safer, since I can weed out undesirable traits before even talking with her.

So graphic design. Hmph. I feel these women are on another planet. I've never met them, even on online dating sites, and you meet all types of women on online dating sites. I did meet a video game designer, kinda hot, but she just drew the concept art, I don't think she really was a gamer herself.

I have a few friends (male) who like the ME series, but most of my mates who play games prefer stuff like GTA etc.

My GF doesn't really play games at all (she might join in here and there), but she enjoys watching and following the story while I play. Her favourite part was when I punched Kalisah (LOL)

Hahaha! The first time she saw it was in ME3, which to be fair is a headbutt, but still (I finished ME1 and ME2 before her and I got together), but I went back and showed her the ME1 and ME2 falcon punches as well because she loved it so much.

Haha, I'm a girl and I like Mass effect. I even like it more than my BF, in fact, I'm more a hardcore gamer than my bf.

Girl gamers exist, they just try to shy away most of the time because of the less than kind, horny guys that roam the net.

Ok, I haven't even met anyone in RL that even plays mass effect, outside of the cashier who likes to talk to himself at the GameStop store. So, after perusing YouTube videos regarding ME, I encountered several quite cute gamer girls talking about Mass Effect, whether regarding the ending or whatever. Now, in my job, I know many gamers, yet no one really plays Mass Effect. Many play MMOs, but Mass Effect? My question for you is, do you guys know many people that enjoy Mass Effect? What do you guys do? What kinds of backgrounds/jobs do you guys come from. It truly boggles my mind. I feel Mass Effect is like a world created just for me, honestly since I feel isolated from any other players.

I sympathize. I know only two people who have played the series. One is a friend of mine from college (we're History students), the other is my girlfriend, who's a designer. Most of my friends don't play games and the ones who do are nintendo fans or old school PC gamers who mostly play strategy games.

I've been to the Brazillian launch of ME3 and I saw people from a very wide age range, both male and female, so I guess the fanbase in general is quite varied. However, it does seem to be smaller, in my country, at least, when compared to the likes of Zelda, Final Fantasy and other AAA franchises.

I'm a girl, not super duper hot if I'm honest, but cute enough for the boyf! Have to be honest and say that I don't really know any other gamers in real life. I work mainly with older folks, all educated to MSc or PhD level so they tend to be very snooty about games - which really annoys me!

@Work few people were talking about Mass Effect (there are few gamers) though they are were all guys. If I exclude forumites I haven't really seen many (if any) gamer girls/women but apparently the do exist.

Oh look it's this thread ;P

Girls do play video games. I know I know it's hard to believe.

I'm actually more of a gamer then the ex-husband, and he and I met through gaming ;p I know quite a few ladies who play as well, though no one nearby. Which makes me a sad duck.

It's hard for girls to be overtly nerdy, it seems. In France, at least as far as I've noticed, women tend to keep their geekiness under wraps - for what good reasons? you tell me. I tried to ask these questions to a female friend of mine and she said that it didn't matter one bit what other people thought of her. As long as she could spend time playing video games and doing other geeky things without being judged according to her gender.

There are people like that: secretive, very private about their gaming. Masturbation is more widely accepted in popular wisdom!

Same here. You should hear some of the stuff people say when I jump on TF2 with my mic, oh my god. "Are you a 12-year-old boy?" "No, I'm a woman." "I didn't know girls played this game! Are you hot? Say something sexy!"

Sometimes I just say that I am a 12-year-old boy, it makes things easier. Sometimes. <_<

Oh, and I'm a comic artist by profession, too! That's another field that's traditionally been male-dominated with a stigma against women, so it's fun as well.

Anyway, OP, the internet brings people together! Even if you can't find any fans (female or not) that live around you, that's what the BSN is for. :D

Yeah, it's especially thanks to cool people like you that we know what's out there.

Gotta watch out for the creeps, though.
