 I'm playing a new ME2 save at the moment that I intend to import into ME3. I want to mimic the feel of  the ME2 Sentinel in ME3 as best as I can, but the Tank + Caster role has been split up. At first I was thinking of doing a caster with Tech Armor for power damage boosts, and then a tank, but then I thought, why not both?

Math was never my strong suit, so hopefully someone can tell me if any of this makes sense?

1. If Overload (for example)'s base recharge is 8 seconds, and you take both Recharge Speed upgrades, that makes it about 5.2 seconds. And if you have both Tech Armor and Barrier / Defense Matrix specced for Durability, the added 140% Cooldown bonus makes that into 12ish seconds. Is that right?

2. Does the weight cooldown percentage off-set the Tech Armor / Defense Matrix penalty? So if the combined penalty is 140% and  I can get the weight to 140%, does that set Overload back to 5.2 seconds?

3. I don't know what the math for this is so hopefully someone can fill this in for me: If I pick the Weight Capacity upgrade in the Mastery skill, and equip only a Particle Rifle V, what would my weight cooldown be? I don't think it's possible to nail down an exact number, but I'd like to do as much planning ahead of time as possible.

Thanks in advance. :)

Cooldown = BaseValue * (1/ (1+upgrades))

so in your case (1): (Overload 2x 25% bonus, Tech Armor+DM = 140% penalty)

Cooldown = 8 * (1/ (1+0.25+0.25-1.4)
Cooldown = 7.2

case (2): (Overload 2x 25% bonus, Tech Armor+DM = 140% penalty, weapon loadout 140% bonus)

Cooldown = 8 * (1/ (1+0.25+0.25-1.4+1.4)
Cooldown = 5.3

For some reason, the numbers will not be exactly like this in the game, but they will be really, really close.

Thank you immensely. This has helped a great deal.
