Better yet, the lyrics work for every ME1 Shepard/LI combo, even the locked-out ones. It would also make the bestest credits music for the Red Ending, but someone doesn't like using lyrics to illustrate plot points, I'm afraid =(

Hope I can be forgiven for bringing more animu into it, but...

Title's "Kaze ga Shi-tte iru" by a certain Shinya Iguchi, far as I gather...shortened version of it is the opening to a sequel from 1994 of a somewhat mediocre 80s mecha-series.
Despite that, the sequel can be watched as a standalone, as far as I am concerned. And in light of its finale it is...beautiful. Tragic conclusion done right too, to be had.

I'd have been alright with an ending in that vein, Shepard walking off, alone, towards the horizon...
