Overall Miranda and Wrex would be perfect for me.

Liara and Garrus, Samara and Garrus. Mostly combat, a bit tech and 33% biotics. And in LotSB, I brought Samara for the kicks of bringing two of the same alien race. Everyone except Miranda, Jacob and Jack (she's an awesome character, but Samara is better in combat) is used a bit.

Haven't yet gotten the Kasumi DLC, but have also bought the PS3 version, which includes it -- I want an import for PS3 ME3 and don't like Origin.

ME1 it was Garrus and Wrex.

For 2 it would have to be Garrus and Thane.

For 3? Garrus is definitely there (combat powers + tech is TOO useful). There really isn't one that fits the rest. We don't have a tech/biotic or combat/biotic like Kaidan/Wrex were. Sure, Kaidan is there, but he doesn't have Throw, and his tech powers aren't the best. He falls short of being a USEFUL Sentinel. Usually I'd pick Liara to accompany me, because she was the most useful of the biotics.

 ME1: Liara and Tali because they provided the Biotics and Tech during my most of my runs. When I was an adept and engineer it was Garrus and Wrex because I felt too squishy. 

ME2: I'd love to have Liara again. I always brought some combination of Miranda, Garrus, Thane, or Zaeed

You get the most rounded squads with these. I never took Liara in ME1 because I couldn't stomach her, but she's a bit more easygoing in ME3 so it works. Let it be clear, though, that if I could take Zaeed and Legion with me in every game, I would.

You like Garrus and you always want the other squadmate to be someone who is at least part krogan

My dream teams have always been about strategy.

For an engineer:
ME1 - Ashley/Liara --- needed a tank (because engineers sucked then) and also biotic powers
ME2 - Kasumi/Morinth -- loved kasumi's shadow attack and LOVED dominate (was my bonus power too). I would plant a droid on one side, have morinth dominate an enemy on another and then as they were distracted I would use my incinerate. As this was my insanity play through for ME2 I needed a good strategy. This worked well.
ME3 - Liara/Garrus --- overload helped my combos and I essentially let Liara kill off all the easy enemies with Singularity warp combos. Was my first play through, so strategy was less important.

For Adept:
ME1 - Liara/Wrex -- lots of biotic powers! Lift lift lift lift lift lift lift lift
ME2 - Miranda/Samara - lots of biotic powers and someone has overload!
ME3 - Garrus/EDI - REALLY need overload (playing on insanity) and as I am doing the majority of the power combos it is vital to have squadmates who can take down shields and armor.

For Sentinel:
ME1 - Wrex/Liara -- I just like them
ME2 - Samara/Tali - to balance my biotic and engineer powers
ME3 - haven't played it in this class yet

Absolute dream team for renegade would be an engineer with dominate as my bonus power, and then have Wrex and Aria . For paragon I would be an Adept and would have Kasumi and Liara and I would have overload as a bonus power option.

woah that was a lot longer post than most people --- I got excited.
