I tend to mix a few depending on what I feel I need and what class I play, but through most of my play through the series, I tended to play Infiltrator and use the following

ME : Liara, Garrus (Sometimes Liara, Tali)

ME2: Tali, Garrus

ME3: Liara, Garrus (Sometimes Tali, Garus)

I chose more for character interaction/personality rather than logical for abilities (caused me trouble more than once). If I have a romantic interest, that character is almost always in my party no matter what.

Me3 Only played through twice. So Javik and vega. The offer some of the best lines

ME1: Tali & Wrex/Garrus
ME2: Tali & Garrus/Kasumi (for Blue Suns & Eclipse), Samara/Thane (for Collectors), Mordin (for Blood Pack)
ME3: Tali & Javik/Kaidan

all of my other 20+ Shepards it depends (for both class synergy and roleplaying purposes)
