Not sure why there's so much negative response in this thread, though...

Thank you! Frankly I'm very happy with the level of civility here. I've probably just jinxed it.:?

See? Everybody wins.;) And how did you know I'm lousy at Multiplayer? I'm just barely able to play Silver. I do love my Humgineer, though.

Why does this thread relate COMPLETELY to the ME story?

OP = Shepard.
BW = Reapers.

This is going to go one way, either multicoloured banning of this thread, or complete failure.

Plus the facebook event... lolwut only 200 members?
Note that there are hundreds of thousands of players. About two of whom don't hate the ending.
This thread is completely childish; i can't believe everyone is getting so upset about the ending...

You know, if you had told me last year or even two months ago that I would be campaigning about the ending to a video game, I would not have believed you. This game really was that good, until the end. Maybe I'm childish. Maybe I have no hope of succeeding. But I'm still going to try. And if I fail, well, at least I met a great group of like-minded people.

Believing is hard, I'll admit it, but I'm happier now trying than I was being cynical two weeks ago. Thank you everyone! Keep trying!

Just had to fix his statement.
Didn't touch yours, Shinobu.

Due to me being too afraid to download the patch to my XBox, I'm never online if I play ME3 anyway.

Well, you can still tweet or post an after action report, even if Origin isn't keeping track of you.

If you really want this to work, make the turn off period a week. A day isn't going to mean much for them but if they see what it's like to not have people on for the whole week, that could send a clear message. I've got my final exam the day after that weekend anyways so I doubt I'm going to be playing anything on the 29th =P

Yes, a week would have a definitely greater impact, but I'm afraid most people who are on these forums wouldn't commit to a week of no BSN even if they're already not playing the game. I tried to balance impact and doability.

Good luck on your final!

Honestly... at this point i couldn't care less about it. As you said.. its their best and last chance to get me back as a customer, but this also implies they already have lost me as a customer.

I am waiting the whole thing out and i don't care if they give it their all or only half-a** it. This extended cut will decide wheter i am buying future Bioware products without waiting for prices to drop to 2nd hand deals or glowing customer reviews. They are giving it us for free, so i am willing to listen to what they have to say.

The thing is.. i don't plan to goad EA into giving them fundings by doing anything more than i already did. Why? Because if they don't care right now to do it properly, they won't do their next thing properly.

ME3 isn't the first game they screwed up. I didn't care for how ME2 felt rushed, because i thought they did ME2 in the way they did it, so we don't needed to go through introduction processes for ME3. So we wouldn't need to build up and upgrade our Ship and whatnot. Maybe we'd get a cool hideout if you don't destroy the collector base or something... but well thing is.. ME2 felt rushed to me, but i didn't care, because i thought it was a plan.

Then there was Dragon Age 2. Which didn't even just make me feel like it was rushed because the story wasn't up to their game, but because the whole thing was a rush job from start to the end. Its level design was horrible, its story fell appart in the last act. I couldn't bring myself to care about the characters, i was forced into situations where i had to be a jerk to gay people because i didn't want to be gay, and basically the game was just substandard. I've actually seen Indi Companies produce higher quality games.

Now there is ME3, which was a good game for most part until they decided to flush the whole Series down the toilet. From what they said we'd get and what we got in the end i can only say "it was rushed, otherwise there is no reason an ending which is everything they promised over and over again it wouldn't be".

So quite frankly, if they don't make good on their word now with the Extended edition and give it their all, i am done with them. I am actually already done with them, they scammed me out of my money for DA2 and ME3.. and without titles like DA:O, Jade Empires, KOTOR and others i would have already walked away. I had probably told people not to buy it, like i did, and that would have been the extend of it. Only because i enjoyed a lot of their past works i am still here and giving them a change to turn it around.

This isn't me feeling entitled to something, this is me being scammed into buying something i wouldn't have bought if i had known the state it was in before i bought it. This is me being upset you buy a cat in a bag with Videogames and getting told i am a whining crybaby for complaining if the cat turned out to be a rat.

So their extended edition is their chance to make it up to me. I give them that chance. I don't expect them to take it and i won't go out of a limb to help them. I already accepted that Bioware isn't what it used to be anymore. There are a lot of other companies that i can pay money for my entertainment. And anyway.. Bioware isn't a singular studio anymore. Since 2009 they are just a branch of EA.. EA merged Bioware and Mythic into their RPG and MMO devision. So its not like there is some sort of Studio left. Not like it used to be at least.

Besides, even if they give it their best and it doesn't meet my expectations i will walk away anyway. It doesn't matter either way. If i like it i stay, if not i am gone. Simple as that. If they don't give it their all, i can't expect them to give their best with the next product either. The extend of the Extended Cut decides what i believe i can expect from Bioware in the future.

EA not funding them properly? Well then thats what i can expect with future titles as well. More Rushjobs and underfunded projects. So whats the point in trying to show EA anything?

They do or they don't.. there is no try with this one. No failsave, no third chance. They set it right or we part ways. No hard feelings. Its not like they need my purchase anyway.

This is a well thought out post, and I can see your point. My counterargument is that if you don't participate, your voice is not heard. By never logging in, we are effectively "silenced" and thus can be ignored through wilful ignorance. You are right that if it takes this much efort to get something good made, the prospects for future games are not that rosy. Right now I'm just concentrating on this game, because I loved it and can't stand what it became in the end. Thanks for listening!

I think everyone feels the same but let's be intellectually honest--it's not generally about the game or the ME series, it's about YOUR Shepard (and in fairness, for me it's about MY Shepard).  Which is why this whole thing was/is so disappointing for those most attached to the series.

That said it's time to let this go.  Many great series in a number of mediums have experienced things similiar, the difference there was that the characters in say BSG or Dune were never YOUR characters, their stories were never YOUR characters' stories.  Shepard is unique not just in ability or in what s/he has experienced, but in the intimacy that flows between player and character.

It's sad that in the end, Bioware's developer team failed to understand and appreciate this and failed to build the final game around this unique emotional mechanic that they had trailblazed in the earlier games.

Do whatever you think you need to do to move on.

I have not played, or purchased any other EA product since accepting the ending of the game, I will try the DLC when it comes out, if it really is just text and deleted scenes well.........Nah nah nah nah hey hey hey goodbye EA

Again, I feel your participation is very important. Individually promising to walk away is fine, but doing so en masse is much more striking. If you don't play, your voice will not be heard. Why wait and find out the DLC sucks when by playing for 5 minutes on one day you might help prevent it from sucking? Then that $60 drink coaster might turn back into a playable game.

Good song, by the way.

Yes, please! I'm hoping to get three of my friends who didn't buy ME3 (because I told them not to) to download the demo. Another friend has never played a video game in her life but she says she's willing to try it for my sake. It could be really funny.

Pretty much exactly what Admiral Hood said to the UNSC after Africa was glassed.

Going to be interested to see if this works, or if we even find out how it went down. But going to support, I was skeptical of the Cupcake movement and that got us on the news. Should probably give these movements more attention than I have.

Thanks! I was too late for cupcakes but squeaked in under the wire for Childs' play.

Angry Joe kicks asss!!! Great idea and I would suggest tweeting a reviewer on Youtube named JeremyJahns, he too opposes the ending and has a huge fanbase, most are ME fans.
