But I still think this turn on/off is a good idea. Maybe we can show them something. And I think to just play one day in order to support this idea is a good alibi, even if you're consequent and don't want to play anymore.

I'll stick with reminding them just how many of us are still actively watching and waiting and pushing for an ending worthy of the series than continuing to sit here in silence and risk becoming
nothing more than an annoying memory.
My account has been offline since mid-March but I'll be firing it up on Saturday and then I'm going to log out again, maybe until mid-summer or never again.

The idea of the campaign is to present a number spike that shows both the support for the franchise, hope for the DLC and the willingness to walk away if it does not clear up the issues we've raised.
I'll be there at the weekend

I will still wait for a patch for quest bugs and the DLC to see if the SP is worth revisiting.

My expert* opinion: This will turn out exactly like the rally to save Bobby Petrino's job.
I apologize for the Gawker network link: I know that their terrible website design causes many people to bleed from various connective tissues upon clicking. But they had the "good" pictures.
Reasoning: This event is being supported and promoted primarily, looking at the posters in this thread, by the people who have already sworn off the game in protest, or claim to have done so. You can't boycott something you weren't already buying.
*Note: here, "expert" is used in the Internet connotation, here meaning "random dude on the Internet talking out of his cloaca.
You're right -- turning off and never playing is shooting ourselves in the foot because we can be written off if no one sees us. That's why we're coaxing people who haven't played in weeks to turn on the game Saturday so their voices will be heard.
I haven't played SP since I finished the game, and I haven't spent a cent on Bioware products since, even though I like MP. But I want Bioware to know I WILL buy DLC in future if the ending is fixed to my satisfaction.
For those who say: "Oh, you'll buy it anyway," actually, no, I won't. I can't think about playing the SP game at this point without feeling slightly ill. Unless the Ending DLC can help me to enjoy the SP game again, I won't play it. Or any SP DLC that comes out. There's no point in "saving Omega" just to have it go down in flames at the end of the game. And I won't be buying MP packs. I didn't even bother to download the free one that was offered 2 weekends ago.
On the other hand, if I love the ending DLC, I'll probably buy all subsequent gameplay DLC, and maybe an N7 hoodie. And if the FemShep statuette were any good and not oversexed bishoujou garbage (even though I *like* anime), I might buy that, too. And I'll probably buy the ME trilogy for my friend who hasn't played yet. That's the future I want, and it should be the future Bioware wants as well. They just need to see the upside to fixing the Ending properly, so I'm fixing to show 'em!
Let your voices be heard, everyone! <3

Welp, this is by far the most mature idea that's arisen from this ugly business. Not a silly boycott, not another rabid letter of hate, but something that demonstrates to get the point across without sacrificing civility.
I don't support the Retake thing, but I do support getting some quality in the Extended Cut DLC. I approve.
Thank you! Welcome aboard! Have a sig banner.

I think it's important this happens as well, and that as many people as possible participate, even if you don't think anything will come of it.
I can't say I'm a very optimistic person but I always like to approach things with a hope for the best but prepare for the worst kind of attitude, and I think we all know better than to assume we're going to see a clear cause and effect scenario come of this.
I'll be sure to spread the word.
Thank you!

- Turn OFF Mass Effect 3 do not play either single or multiplayer for the entirety of Sunday, April 29th (Pacific Time/GMT -7). The game must be shut off for the entire 24 hour period. Do not login to the BSN forum during this time. If you have an iPhone or iPad, turn off the Datapad app using the orange Origin circle in the upper right hand corner.
I heartily support this, and suggest in fact that Herd The Liners extend their absence for a while. Maybe a month off would make their point even more effectively.
You are welcome. Please spread the news. You get peace and quiet for a day and we make a statement. Win-win!

This isn't gonna accomplish anything.
Probably not, but it might, and I guarantee sitting on our butts doing nothing will acomplish nothing. Bioware and EA may, hell, probably, will ignore this, but it's worth a shot.
More than likely we'll get the "Animal House" ending no matter what, but it's better to try and fail than just do nothing.
Exactly! And actually, they are paying attention. They may not change what they do, but they are monitoring this situation. We just need to nudge them over to the Light side.
