Hm we could do this every weekend and call the campaign "Heartbeat for ME3" ... because of the spikes they'll see :D

Nice idea! I doubt we could get people to agree to do this every weekend, though. Maybe once a month?

May I disconnect the PC from internet and just play the SP?

It's better to be connected to Origin during your "ON" time and to be NOT playing any EA game during your "OFF" time.

I think this is a good idea. Its kinda like what a bunch of Half Life fans did on Steam a while ago. I participated in that, and I'll contribute to this as well.

Thank you, please spread the news!

I'm not a part of the Retake or Hold the Line movement, as I'm rather jaded with both groups due to actions I have witnessed from certain members, but I will wish you the best of luck. I've already sent in my criticisms to Bioware and will most likely take part in the "turn on, turn off" event to give Bioware the hint to focus on SP rather than MP for the time being.

Thank you very much! I wanted this to appeal to all Bioware fans, whether or not you're a member of HTL or Retake. We all want the DLC to be good! :D

I don't think this weekend was a good idea seeing as it will be an N7 challenge weekend, just saying.

Again, hardcore MP players aren't really our target audience. Also, it's entirely possible to play MP 36 hours from Friday to Saturday night, turn on SP for 5 minutes and then sleep all of Sunday!

Easily done.

I haven't played any ME games in weeks. I can certainly log on a few hours then re-shelf ME3 indefinitely.

You're right -- turning off and never playing is shooting ourselves in the foot because we can be written off if no one sees us. That's why we're coaxing people who haven't played in weeks to turn on the game Saturday so their voices will be heard.

I haven't played SP since I finished the game, and I haven't spent a cent on Bioware products since, even though I like MP.  But I want Bioware to know I WILL buy DLC in future if the ending is fixed to my satisfaction.

For those who say: "Oh, you'll buy it anyway," actually, no, I won't. I can't think about playing the SP game at this point without feeling slightly ill. Unless the Ending DLC can help me to enjoy the SP game again, I won't play it. Or any SP DLC that comes out. There's no point in "saving Omega" just to have it go down in flames at the end of the game. And I won't be buying MP packs. I didn't even bother to download the free one that was offered 2 weekends ago.

On the other hand, if I love the ending DLC, I'll probably buy all subsequent gameplay DLC, and maybe an N7 hoodie. And if the FemShep statuette were any good and not oversexed bishoujou garbage (even though  I *like* anime), I might buy that, too. And I'll probably buy the ME trilogy for my friend who hasn't played yet. That's the future I want, and it should be the future Bioware wants as well. They just need to see the upside to fixing the Ending properly, so I'm fixing to show 'em!:D

Let your voices be heard, everyone! <3

Good for you, but if I had a nickel for every time that I've heard that on the BSN and it turned out not to be true, I could be paying a sophisticated, erudite man in a suit to type this post for me on a gold-plated laptop. Now, you very well could be the first person to ever be serious about it, and more power to you if so, but I somehow doubt that it will turn out to the case.

But back to the topic at hand, especially when you consider an analysis of the number of people in this thread just posting over and over again, it really doesn't seem like you have that many people involved. I don't think BioWare will notice your traffic upswing at all except for the fact that you're making a public declaration of it in advance.

As for me, I'll just wait and see how it goes. You, of course, have the ability to prove me wrong if there are enough people who agree with you and really care. But cool analysis tells me this is unlikely.

How are you tracking what people are buying or not buying?

We have over 800 people signed up to take part on the FB events page and another 1400 invites out. That's pretty good for 3 days work. We're also starting to get some attention off the forums:

http://dailygamingne...ioware-weekend/

Again, I can't stress this enough: "waiting and seeing" is shooting yourself in the foot. I know trying is hard because then you become invested, which may magnify the disappointment if things don't work out, but NOT trying is a sure road to disappointment with only the mild satisfaction of being able to say "see, I told you it would suck."

Not trying = guaranteed moderate disappointment.

versus

Trying with chance of -> more severe disappointment or GOOD OUTCOME.

I know which one I'm going for!:wizard:

---had to <snip> the quote, was too long

I recently took a week away from the forums and it really helped me to regain a positive outlook. All the negativity on the forums can be a downer. Sometimes I wonder how the mods -- or any of us, really -- stand it.

Thank you!!! <3

That is a healthy thing to do. I think the moderators could use a break, too.

And "funny" enough, I just spoke with my old mother, and told her about this whole ordeal, how I feel so down and saddened for you all, who has been here for such a long time, and everyone's despair and frustration, I just said the same thing to my mother. I physically cannot take it, just reading (not even posting, just reading), too much negativity - I certainly do not blame anyone, but I, too, think everyone suffer atm.

So yes I need a break, but I came here now (to bump this thread, actually) and first thing I saw was a silly thread that's going to be locked, for obvious reasons, but I laughed so much. That was a really nice break! :D (poor mods)

Well, as far as I'm tracking who's buying and not buying, all you have to do is wait for the people who say that on the forums to show up on the forums for the next BioWare game with a registered copy on their account, still talking about it. But that's neither here nor there, so let's move on to the more important things you brought up.

My apologies, I have made myself unclear. I actually don't have a vested interest in your cause--I'm an outside observer. I would typically agree with you about taking action rather than not doing anything, but BioWare has already announced free DLC regarding the endings. You don't have any clue what's going to be in it in terms of content rather than speculation. If you're willing to act at this point, that's your perogative, but no one is going to thank you for it. Some advice:

Facebook and Twitter numbers for events like these typically tend to be inflated by usually at least 3 or 4 times, with outside cases having approximately 20-30 times inflation.

Even if everyone that you have signed up at this point participated at the correct time and did the same thing, 800 is a drop in the bucket in terms of the at least 1.3 million (possibly more) BioWare fans who bought the game.

What I'm driving at is that you don't have the people for what you're doing to matter. I would suggest brainstorming for an alternate method of action--at your current numbers, the likelihood of being anything more than a tiny blip on the radar is not exactly high.

It is true that 800 out of 1.3 million is not a lot. However, how many of those 1.3 million are still around at this point? 50% didn't finish the game. Of the other 50%, many have moved on as well. Let's say as a conservative estimate 25% of that 1.3 million people are still interested in ME3 in some form or other and represent a pool of candidates that might buy future paid DLC. That's still 350k, which is pretty good and still outnumbers 800 by a fair bit. However, I disagree that 800 is a tiny blip. Remember by the 90-9-1 principle, 800 people claiming to participate in the event (whether they do or not) could actually represet a pool of 8000 people. 8k of 350k is 2% and we still have half the week to recruit. The FB site also doesn't take into account people like me who aren't on FB. The other thing to consider is the effect of media coverage. A movement does not have to have overwhelming numbers in order to effect change.

In the end, you may be right that this will be yet another wasted effort on the part of the fans to affect the outcome of this sad situation. However, I cannot sit by and do nothing. My Shepard won't let me. I will continue to work, continue to TRY, and I applaud all of the blips like me who aren't afraid to have hope.

And actually I have been thanked, but it was nice of you to think of me.

I havent even beat the game yet(nor am I asking to be spoiled) but from little I did hear about the ending, its f-ing horrifying.

So I shall spread the word to all who will listen, and follow the steps to the letter. Glad to see so many Mass Effect fans are stepping up. =]

You only have to play ME3 for 5 minutes on Saturday. You'll still have plenty of time to shoot your friends.:)

Thought this thread deserved a bump.
My personal wishlist for the ending-

Make clever use of the indoctrination theory.
Ability to argue with the star child's dodgy logic.
Proper epic boss fight with Harbinger, either in the "real world" or some sort of Virtual reality / psychic battle in Shepard's mind.
Possibility of happy ending with Shepard reunited with LI.

Hope that's not too much to ask for.

Seriously though, a satisfying ending to work towards would give me an incentive to replay the single player campaign over and over again and buy any single player DLC Bioware might release. A mission to retake Omega with Aria T'Loak as a squad mate would be awesome!

Taking part in these sensationalist acts continues to push the narrative that Retake is nothing more than a extremist cult.

This will fizzle out like all the other stunts pulled by Retake....
