As as analogy.. I work as a chef. Not long ago someone didn't really like the creme brulee special I made. They did not get another dessert, they did not get it for free since they ate a good part of it. That's not how a restaurant makes money, it's a business after all. It was a solid dessert and we stand behind our culinary integrity. (they did come back we made sure she'd enjoy what she was ordering before she ordered it). Bioware is no different. We are really lucky to be getting anything at all. They have to devote time and resources to pull this off. For free. It takes a lot of guts to do something like that. Thank them for it.

Come on, do better than that. The rather pathetic "entitled" line has long since passed into simply being a synonym for "I'm a troll."Doug4130 wrote...

We as customers are entitled to recieve the product as advertised. We as customers did not recieve that product. So we as customers have the right to protest and request the product as it was advertised.

Except for the excerpt at the end of those commercials where they say it DOESNT give you wings, it just revitalizes body and mind.
And even if they didnt say that, a little cartoon about someone growing wings is too far fetched to take seriously, it is clearly a joke. Having a decent ending for a video game on the other hand.....

That is an interesting analogy. Let me tell you about a trip I made a few years ago to a 4 star restaurant. We had an amazing meal. Everything from the very first appetizer placed on the table to the last bite of the main course was simply delicious. We ordered sufflees for dessert. Mine came out, and it was sagging. I took a couple bites, and it tasted ok, but it wasn't up to par with what a sufflee should look like. When the waiter asked us how everything was, I told him about it.
He apologized and asked if I would like a new one. I said no (since you have to order them 30 mintues in advance), and I assured him the rest of the meal was ok. That could have been the end of the story, but instead they brought out several desserts and asked if I would like any of them instead. I was welcome to take one or all of them and even share them with the rest of the table. I was floored. I never expected them to do that for me. Whenever I have a special occasion that involves dinner now, where do you think I think to go as a first choice?
Here's another annecdote for you. Whenever Blizzard ships a game, I don't even bother reading the reviews. I just buy it. Bioware used to be like that for me. Admittedly DA2 factors more into this than does ME3, but I do read reviews first and talk to friends now before buying a Bioware game.

You mistake the "extended cut" for "decent ending". It may be good, I'm not saying its not, but if all they're doing is adding a little bit more to that trainweck of an ending then I'm afraid it just wont cut it for the majority.

I personally think the timing couldnt be more perfect, since theres an Op going on. That said, there will probably be alot more ppl playing ME3 and Bioware/EA will be keeping a closer eye on how many. If we spread the word and encourage everyone to complete Operation: Exorcist on Friday + Saterday, and not on sunday, that'll show a clear message this isnt a loss cause or anything.
The trick is getting enough ppl though, so SPREAD THE WORD!
Yup! Play MP for 47.5 hours straight Friday and Saturday, play SP for 30 minutes Saturday and sleep it off on Sunday if you want!

If the brulee I had put out as defective like your experience with a sagging souffle - if the sugar was burnt, egg curdled or not thick enough etc then we would have bent over backwards for her. But it wasn't; it was a perfectly good product. We stood behind it and they obviously enjoyed their experience or they wouldn't have come back. Standing behind a product you are completely, professionaly satisfied with is integrity and there is nothing wrong with it no matter who might not like it. That's what I was getting at.

Did you read the FAQs? We are not asking for any specific plot points or outcomes. We just want an ending that is of good quality.
Let's revisit your analogy. Let's say the fans ordered creme brulee but were given mashed potatoes that were called "creme brulee." They may have been tasty to some, but they weren't what was expected, because the fans were expecting and told they were getting "creme brulee." Now the fans are back and we are saying "Hey, before you make my new dessert, I just want to remind you that I want creme brulee. If it's good, I'll bring my friends back here next time. If you give me mashed potatoes again, I'm going to the restaurant down the street." How is that in any way entitled?

That's what BW seem to think they've done and not what a lot of people think they've done. A professional has to know when they're just being pigheaded and blind to criticism and when the customer is being unreasonable.Doug4130 wrote...

Maybe the disconnect here is that you and Bioware feel that the original ending was a "perfectly good product," while many of us feel it actually was sagging and burnt. Since art is in the mind of the beholder, our interpretation of "burnt and foul tasting" is every bit as correct as Bioware's interpretation of "tasty." The question is whether we will settle for a second helping of something we find "burnt and foul tasting" when it is dished up with a bigger spoon, or whether we will hold up our hand before it is dished up and say "No, thank you!"

And there's the crux of the matter, you say the product wasn't defective and say we should be happy with what we got, we say it absolutely is and that the epic conclusion of a story based based game needs to make sense, and with the route BW announced is taking will not make it so.
