I find your proposition very interesting.
However, since EA/BioWare are both companies bound on making money (actually, that's why companies exist, isn't it?) I would like to suggest another "operation" later on, when the ending is released.
I think that once the DLC ending is released, we should negotiate a date. Until that date, the players should be able to complete the Ending part and play the DLC. On the day the community agrees on, everyone willing will use the microtransaction (akka BW-Points) system to actually "pay for the DLC". By buying BW points, even if we won't use them now, we will show them that we honor not only the game, but that we honor their work and agree to the fact that them even LISTENING to our cries for better final is appreciated...
I don't want to suggest a minimal amount of points, that is up to anyone's agreement with the ending, but I think this will be fair from us.

An interesting idea. I'm not opposed to paying for a quality product, but I can't add that to the current campaign with so few days left and probable lack of support by a large number of people. I suggest you come to the holdtheline.com forums and bring it up. The people there are quite friendly.:)

OK I done you a video, do you have a youtube channel we could upload this to?

Turn it on/Turn it off for Bioware

Facts:

- Whether you are hopeful or cynical about the new Ending DLC, one thing is clear: it's Bioware's last, best chance to win back the fanbase.

Um.

 Oh, one other thing!

For those of us with iPad or iPhones, we shouldn't use the Datapad App either on the Off-day.

Just realized (since I'm pushing that button every 108 minutes or so....in my wait for the DLC)

So, in that App, log out from Origin on Sunday!
- there is an orange round thingie there in the top right corner -

Thank you, I will add this information!

Well, the worst that can happen is with so many simultaneous hits is you take down the Origin servers, odd, why don't I feel concerned about that.

- Because many people have not been playing the SP campaign, EA may have the mistaken impression that SP is a "lost cause" and so may not fund the Ending DLC properly -- especially since they are committed to giving it to us for free.

Honestly... at this point i couldn't care less about it. As you said.. its their best and last chance to get me back as a customer, but this also implies they already have lost me as a customer.

I am waiting the whole thing out and i don't care if they give it their all or only half-a** it. This extended cut will decide wheter i am buying future Bioware products without waiting for prices to drop to 2nd hand deals or glowing customer reviews. They are giving it us for free, so i am willing to listen to what they have to say.

The thing is.. i don't plan to goad EA into giving them fundings by doing anything more than i already did. Why? Because if they don't care right now to do it properly, they won't do their next thing properly.

ME3 isn't the first game they screwed up. I didn't care for how ME2 felt rushed, because i thought they did ME2 in the way they did it, so we don't needed to go through introduction processes for ME3. So we wouldn't need to build up and upgrade our Ship and whatnot. Maybe we'd get a cool hideout if you don't destroy the collector base or something... but well thing is.. ME2 felt rushed to me, but i didn't care, because i thought it was a plan.

Then there was Dragon Age 2. Which didn't even just make me feel like it was rushed because the story wasn't up to their game, but because the whole thing was a rush job from start to the end. Its level design was horrible, its story fell appart in the last act. I couldn't bring myself to care about the characters, i was forced into situations where i had to be a jerk to gay people because i didn't want to be gay, and basically the game was just substandard. I've actually seen Indi Companies produce higher quality games.

Now there is ME3, which was a good game for most part until they decided to flush the whole Series down the toilet. From what they said we'd get and what we got in the end i can only say "it was rushed, otherwise there is no reason an ending which is everything they promised over and over again it wouldn't be".

So quite frankly, if they don't make good on their word now with the Extended edition and give it their all, i am done with them. I am actually already done with them, they scammed me out of my money for DA2 and ME3.. and without titles like DA:O, Jade Empires, KOTOR and others i would have already walked away. I had probably told people not to buy it, like i did, and that would have been the extend of it. Only because i enjoyed a lot of their past works i am still here and giving them a change to turn it around.

This isn't me feeling entitled to something, this is me being scammed into buying something i wouldn't have bought if i had known the state it was in before i bought it. This is me being upset you buy a cat in a bag with Videogames and getting told i am a whining crybaby for complaining if the cat turned out to be a rat.

So their extended edition is their chance to make it up to me. I give them that chance. I don't expect them to take it and i won't go out of a limb to help them. I already accepted that Bioware isn't what it used to be anymore. There are a lot of other companies that i can pay money for my entertainment. And anyway.. Bioware isn't a singular studio anymore. Since 2009 they are just a branch of EA.. EA merged Bioware and Mythic into their RPG and MMO devision. So its not like there is some sort of Studio left. Not like it used to be at least.

Besides, even if they give it their best and it doesn't meet my expectations i will walk away anyway. It doesn't matter either way. If i like it i stay, if not i am gone. Simple as that. If they don't give it their all, i can't expect them to give their best with the next product either. The extend of the Extended Cut decides what i believe i can expect from Bioware in the future.

EA not funding them properly? Well then thats what i can expect with future titles as well. More Rushjobs and underfunded projects. So whats the point in trying to show EA anything?

They do or they don't.. there is no try with this one. No failsave, no third chance. They set it right or we part ways. No hard feelings. Its not like they need my purchase anyway.

Sounds like another way to protest :P

I dont think ill be joining you guys. If they cant get the message by now then i dont see any reason to offer anymore support

The best kinds of protests should create a ripple effect in the public so it becomes a PR issue. Like the cupcakes. A statistical variance on Origin that can only be read by those in EA seems a bit too futile

I'm on the fence about this idea. I fully support the idea of playing the single player more to show it's important, but agreeing to not play the game on Sunday seems pointless. EA/Bioware are extremely aware of the community being angry about the ending. Not playing the game if anything just deprives people who want to play the game from the joy of doing so. So I guess I'm half committed, I'll be glad to play the single player game on Saturday. However, if I get the urge to play on Sunday I'll probably do that as well. I don't see how this protest will do much good either way.

I've been thinking about this since I saw it a few hours ago, and I think the 24 hours off should be expanded to all EA games not just ME3. This is a great idea I just don't think not playing ME3 is enough.

my initial idea was to boycott the multiplayer...for at least a week. but yea, that sounds like too much. one day on, one day off sounds good. the only thing is, this weekend they'll have an n7 operation for the multiplayer, because they said on masseffect.com that they'll have operations everyother week. so they didnt have any this weekend which means they'll most likely have next weekend. idk, on one hand it'll be a good stage to show EA how much people will play mass effect SP/MP. but on the other hand, it may be hard for some players to not play on sunday, knowing that the operation is on. it all depends on how enticing the operation is and how much we really hate the endings i guess. i, of course, will be playing uncharted this weekend coming and will just turn on the SP on saturday and walk away....
