Just to be safe there it might be good to have at least another turn on and turn off event, so that they know it's not just some one-time only thing they can pass off. Maybe give it a bit more time to gain followers.

This I agree with,  it might be a bit of a stretch but maybe we could have a couple more turn on/off events, each gaining more followers then the last and each a bit longer then the last.

What I'm worried is if we just did it this time EA/Bioware could say "Oh there was an Origin connecting problem for some ppl on Sunday, thats why werent on" or something just as idiotic.

Exactly, it was a bit short notice this time so our numbers might have been a bit low, giving them too much PR leeway to avoid it with. Not to mention it gives people like me who missed one or two of the days a chance to take part too and show support.

dbollendorf has the right idea with one every month leading up to the EC, it makes it a build up to the release!

Also to the OP, great idea, showing support to devs is just as important as criticising them, it shows them that we aren't just a bunch of whiners, we are the loyal fans who support positive changes not PR rubbish.

Did anyone else notice that they stopped updating their twitter feed on the front page last Friday?
It's back up now.... But not a single tweet from this protest showed up.

If it's true, (I don't use twitter so I can't say much), then the implications are very depressing.

I still see the several hundred there from this whole thing when I view Twitter and @bioware @ea @masseffect (just do a search for #turnMEoff and then click ALL feeds). They're still there.

What are you referring to? Whose Twitter feed?

I support any future efforts to #turnMEoff. Just say the word. Something's got to give in those arrogant, disillusioned brains of theirs.

I had problems to participate since my boyfriend got stuck in my videoconsole, so I could not even turn on ME, and the next day I had to work all the day -_-

Anyway, creepy things are happening.

From yesterday night, @masseffectnews is following me (WTF??)

They had few time with tones of updates and then the @masseffect account got silent.

More or less they have been busy trying to make the look that everyone supports them, rettwitting coments of fans telling them how awesome they are.

The keep saying that the people asks for more closure and explanations... explanations for what??. If the wanna keep that ending they need to put a video of 10 minutes more with the Futurama hypnotoad telling us how awesome ME3 ending is.

They are just going to make agony longer than it actually was.

If a dish is horrible made, and it tastes like hell in your mouth, having more of something like this it is not going to make it better. So, do they actually honestly think that making that ending longer it is gonna make it better? LOL

I wonder how many customers are they gonna lose for this. I loved Dragon Age and Mass Effect series, but I don't think I gonna pay anymore for them. Not interested at all. I just have a copy and 30 days of Star Wars and I even started playing, I just not in the mood to play Bioware games. Next franchise I am gonna become fan is The Witcher, you can trust CdPoject much more.

Did he get out?

I participated. Turned the SP on Saturday for the first time in a month and ran around the Normandy and talked to people for an hour. Then turned it off and didn't touch it since.

Would participate again, if there was another turn on/turn off event.

Next time I saw him he was actually sleeping... in the same room of the xbox, so I could just not turn it on to not wake up him... men... :D

Anyway, if there is a next time I'm gonna make him leave the f***ing xbox to me. I PAID that xbox, it is mineeeeeeeeeeeeeee, my treasssuuuureeeeeeeee, he can play his wii.

He knew of the movement, but he thinks I am too obssessed, he forbidden me to speak anymore of this with him... ¬¬, maybe that's why he took the console, dunno.

Thank you all for participating! Your dedication to this franchise is inspiring!

Unfortunately we'll never know how many people took part, but apparently #turnMEoff was trending worldwide for about 10 minutes yesterday (so not due to help from Nicki Minaj). I find it strangely heartening that the Bioware Twitter feeds were AWOL for the weekend. When someone actively tries to silence you, you know you're far from insignificant!

If you're on Twitter, check out some of the tweets:

https://twitter.com/...e AND #turnMEon

https://twitter.com/... AND #turnMEoff

The off tweets were by turns funny, sad and poignant. That's how bittersweet should be done.

If I get more data on numbers I will let you know. Currently:
FB: 1397
BSN (non-FB): 134
Worldwide:?

So 1500 in the US, give or take, which is not the 60K of the original Retake movement. I take responsibility for putting this out there with only 6 days of lead time, which made drumming up support harder than it needed to be. That was an error in judgment on my part -- I was concerned the Ending DLC budget would be nailed down before the campaign started if I delayed, so rushed it out. I'm amazed we were able to build up so much momentum in a few days time. It was all due to the enthusiasm of some amazing people, both at HoldtheLine.com and here. I thank all of you for your hours of labor, good humor and great ideas. :D

Again, we won't know what effect this campaign had (if any) until summer, but I encourage all of you to hold on to the optimistic activism of this thread. Don't give up! I'm going to keep trying both here and at HoldTheLine.

Take the German poll!
http://www.masseffec...d-974.html
It was acknowledged by Jessica Merizan, so it may be more difficult for her to downplay when the results come back (no surprise) with most people hating the ending and wanting alternatives.

Hold the Line's next initiative is Operation Letter Tsunami
http://www.holdtheli...r-tsunami.1386/
There are several ways to participate, and you don't have to use the prepared scripts if they make you uncomfortable. I'm definitely doing the postcard campaign E!

I'm going to browse the after action reports thread and go to sleep. Stay strong!

Its 5 a.m. here so I make this short: Thank you Shinobu for all your effort and that your still standing strong with new ideas in your head. I'll sure as hell will be participating. Forget about the numbers. BioWare surely noticed, and that was our intention this time: Hold awareness high which we certainly did.

Still going over after action reports! After reading them, I'm not sure having another On/Off event is a good idea. Many people had a bad reaction to playing SP again, so I don't want to torment them by trying to make them do it repeatedly.

Be back tomorrow!

It's a conglomeration of campaigns aimed at reminding Bioware that the fans are still paying attention and keeping the heat on. Although there are "prewritten" letters available, you can write whatever you wish if you don't find the exact sentiments you want to convey. :)

I'm back comrades, I heard the turn on/ turn off was success regardless of the numbers. Congratulations to everyone who participated! :D So is this "tsunami campaign" the next thing we all are going start?

Welcome back! And thanks! I'd like to keep some momentum going because it's hard to sit back and wait for another 3 or 4 months without lapsing into cynicism. I'm glad to have found all of you positive people and think we could put our heads together to find new ways to:

1) support singleplayer
2) support Bioware's efforts to make a good EC
3) support each others' desire for a better outcome.

The Operation Letter Tsunami is a good way to keep reminding EA/Bioware that we're not going anywhere. If your feelings aren't represented in the letters provided (especially if you're content with clarification only), write your own. I love the postcard, which is a mosaic of Mass Effect fans making up the N7 designation.

I was thinking of collecting representative samples of the after action reports and tweets fron the On/Off campaign and sending them to EA/Bioware. I'm not sure how to collect the tweets except through screencaps, but think printing all of them will kill my printer. Also, I'm not sure if I need permission from the authors to physically send their words to the company. Thoughts?

Finally, I was considering making this thread a role model for Bioware on how to handle things when they don't go as expected. We could dissect how the campaign could have gone better and figure out what to do the next time. ^_^

Be back tomorrow!

I'm going to spend the weekend taking screencaps of the ON/Off Tweets and formatting them to send to Bioware as our contribution to Operation Letter Tsunami. They should be read!

Hmm. Operation Tweet Tsunami? We caused enough of an impact that they shut down the Twitter feeds for a weekend...
