I'm on the fence about this idea. I fully support the idea of playing the single player more to show it's important, but agreeing to not play the game on Sunday seems pointless. EA/Bioware are extremely aware of the community being angry about the ending. Not playing the game if anything just deprives people who want to play the game from the joy of doing so. So I guess I'm half committed, I'll be glad to play the single player game on Saturday. However, if I get the urge to play on Sunday I'll probably do that as well. I don't see how this protest will do much good either way.

I think EA/BW is already fully aware of the impact this ending has had on their servers. If it weren't they wouldn't be trying to gin up interest in the MP by an unending barrage of MP weekends and they wouldn't be canceling other DLC plans to work on the free Extended Cut.
That move is entirely political, just so they can say that they attempted to satisfy the "entitled unreasonable demands" of the fanbase. They are currently marketing the game as "having the most controversial ending of all time", lol.
Finally, EA will bend arms around the industry to get ME3 as GOTY, to further invalidate the charges that the game is just a poorly executed mess.
The reality, at this point, is that Bioware doesn't care and turning off/on your console isn't going to change that. Probably they will survive this black eye, but the real tragedy is that ME will be remembered merely as a decent series of games and not a sci-fi masterpiece on par with any like it could have been.

It was on the verge of becoming "that game" or "that series" - but yeah, the legend is fading, this is why Bioware need to patch the crap out of the game with more content and better, new endings.
