I like this idea, heck I like it so much I will do it every weekend afterwards too

. Too bad I didn't hear of this sooner, I would have stuck this into my column of the local hobby shop newletter I write for. Alas it is too late now, since this issue is already at the print.
As for the turning off feedback and still logging in, you won't give them exact data of what you were doing while playing but your account will still show you logged into Origin and logged into ME3 (XBox owners as well if you connect to the EA servers).
That feature is so they don't get telemetric data on your gameplay. With it off they just know if you logged in or logged out, if you MPed or not since you connect to their servers and access data stored on them. That feature basically allows them to know when you crashed, how many times you died to a certain enemy, what gun you used most, and what you played exactly and stuff like that.
I imagine if you want to leave a clear message to BW/EA it is better to not log into the game or even Origin, heck I would probably stay clear of logging in to any game that uses the same account info (which would include games from other studios like Kingdoms of Alamur). At the very least not logging into any Bioware game or website that connects you to their servers (so BSN and TOR).
It's just one day.
I personally don't mind turning off to all EA log ins for the turn off day, I can play Shogun 2, one of Petroglyph's RTS, Starcraft 2, beta test Guild Wars 2 if there is a test event, beta test the Stardock games that I am part of the beta, finish Arkam City, play MGS HD Collection, or play one of my classics like DoW.
