ME1: Everybody that's not Garrus or Wrex. As soon as I got them both I never used any other character. Ever.
ME2: Tali. I never had to use her so I never did other than her loyalty quest. I really don't care for her, so I'd just rather not use her. Same with Jacob and Samara. Everyone else I love using.
ME3: EDI. I only used her on the Ceberus base because I had to. I feel as if they should have left her on the ship. Tali is very close, but I used her on every single Rannoch mission, so at least I used her.
Which squad members did you use the least?

I used all of them equally. Playing as an Infiltrator really makes you take into consideration who you take along due to lack of biotic/crowd control abilities. I find that each of them have their strong points.
Liara = Stasis bubble (Great for dealing with groups) Singularity is always handy
Garrus = Overload (Upgraded to Neural Shock with Chain Overload always a good thing FANTASTIC against BARRIERS and shields) Proximity Mine is good against armored targets
James = Carnage (Good on armored targets and small groups) Frag Grenade also good against groups or armored enemies
Kaidan = Overload (Same as Garrus) Reave is also useful against enemies with half health so we're not wasting our rifle ammunition
Javik = Lift Grenade (Great for groups of husks and pain in the a** Guardians) Dark Channel is also good on any enemy really I find it similar to Reave
EDI = Overload (Same as Kaidan and Garrus) Decoy serves as a very good distraction
Tali = Combat /Defense drones (Great for distractions especially when the combat drone is upgraded to launch rockets)
Ashley = Inferno Grenade (Good for groups and as a distraction) Marksman is also good if she has the Revenant I kid you not she took down a Banshee (not the barrier but the armor) with that combo
But that is just me. I enjoy playing as an Infiltrator because it's the only class that really makes you think.

1. Kaiden
2. Jack
3. Tali/EDI
I'll rephrase this
Players I used the most
1. Garrus and Wrex, with Liara close behind.
2. Garrus, Legion, Thane and Kasumi were my top guns, with Grunt being the exception for Insanity.
3. Garrus, Javik, Liara, and occasionally James

Probably
ME1: Kaidan
ME2: Thane
ME3: Well, technically Tali but that's because she turns up so late. Proportionate to availability, probably James or EDI.

Depends on Shepard's class.
I usually want to be able to take down the enemy's defenses fast, so (for example) if Shep is a tech I would want Garrus, Edi, or Tali.
So Vega gets left behind a lot, since he is pretty much a straight up tank.
I'm going to try him more often on my next playthrough, since I like the character.

I played soldier, so:
ME1: Ashley
ME2: Jacob, Samara (I intend to try and use her more next runthrough, only used her on the Suicide Mission, though I didn't use Jack much either)
ME3: James, Tali

Liara and Javik.
Javik because I still have no From Ashes DLC.
Liara is miss useless and she's the 3rd worst character from squadmates( Morinth and Jacob only in front).

Pretty much all the humans in the whole series, except Zaeed cuz he's badass. I don't know, humans are just boring compared to the rest, no matter how well they're written. I'm in space. Why take some dude along with me when I can take a giant Krogan, Asari, mobile AI, Geth, etc.

ME1, Liara. Squadmate autocast was pretty good at managing combat and tech abilities and reasonable with defensive abilities and completely bleeding incompetent with crowd control biotics. Managing her powers on top of my own wasn't fun and I couldn't justify bringing the un-trained civilian into combat with most of my Sheps to begin with so she spent a lot of time keeping Chakwas company.
ME2, Samara, Jack and Tali never left the ship outside their loyalties, and Jacob got benched as soon as I could grab Kasumi and Zaeed. I was particularly annoyed by how useless Tali became against anything that wasn't geth (compared to her amazing universal utility in 1), and how minimally effective she was even against them without her loyalty power.
ME3, I have no use for James as a squadmate and even less as a person. I actually Gibbed my game to get him out of my squad on Menae. EDI gets an honorable mention but she's an obligatory squadmate in some missions so she edges him out (also I don't actually hate her, I just don't find her as useful as everyone else).

ME1: Ash... she was often Virmired and I found her role during combat to be unhelpful. I much preferred someone like Wrex, Liara, or Kaidan, who all had useful biotic talents to compliment my engineer Shepard. Still, Tali and Garrus were often taken along simply because they are awesome.
ME2: Probably a tie between Jacob and Samara. Jacob is Jacob, not much clarification needed. Samara, to me, was somewhat bland. Her story was interesting, but her manner was just so... monotone? I liked her a bit more in ME3.
ME3: EDI, for sure. She wasn't nostalgic like our ME1 squaddies, and she wasn't funny like Vega or trolltastic like Javik. Besides, she would communicate with you through the comm throughout most missions anyway.

Hmm... well for the first two games I can't think of anyone I sidelined over the course of all the playthroughs. In my first play of ME I remember not using Kaiden much because I played a Sentinel, and Ash much in my second play as a Soldier, etc, but overall I found I used all characters pretty regularly.
In ME3 I've only done one play so far, and mostly just used Liara and Garrus. James is probably the character I used the least. I tried others, used Tali for the Geth missions, but mostly Liara and Garrus worked best with my Sentinel. I suppose I also used Javik quite a bit, though not as much as the other two.
