You only really have to watch the first 10 seconds. It's unbearable to play while the "skipping" is in effect.
The problem usually comes after playing for "extended periods" of playing, but othertimes I can play for 2+ hours without any problems.
I've discovered that it won't go away after x time, but it's actually a huge waste of time to wait! Just 10 min ago I played a silver round. I got to round 7 without any problems, then this skipping started. I thought I could wait the 5-8 minutes for the last rounds without loosing connection to the game, but alas.

If any of you have experienced this skipping, do you just need to turn the PS3 off for a while? That's my best theory for why this is happening: Overheating of the PS3.

Happened to me on a few occasions. After extended play time (over 3 hours usually) the skipping starts intermittently, then gradually becomes worse until the game is effectively a slideshow - even the PS button menus are sluggish and laggy. At this point I have to shut up shop for an hour or so. :|

@kilgh, yeah that seems to be that only thing that works.
@Harbinger, it just doesn't make sense that SUDDENLY everything is ****ty and unplayable. It literally, as I posted in the opening post, went from normal frames -> skipping frames -> Disconnect within 5 minutes..........................

Am at level 320 and this was the first time for me. Hadn't been playing that long either. Well, for me anyway, lol.

I get this every now and then too. It kind of reminds me of a similar issue with Skyrim after extended amounts of playing. Resetting your PS3 (clears the cache) will fix it, but this is something Bioware needs to look into.

I think its the same as with this thread

Yup it is a bug that I have encountered everytime I play MP for extended hours.  There is that lag & then your PS3's HDD indicator constantly flash.

Only solution is to quit the game and restart the PS3.
