Probably the best looking textures on character face models(down to the blood vessels) ; the eyes.

Bioware went to a lot of work to make sure they look real, if you look REALLY hard you can even see they wrote a script so that they move rapidly when characters are staring /talking instead of staying still, it makes them look alive, and it works, very well.

It's such a shame that they went through so much effort to end up with the same damn problem throughout the entire trilogy; half the time they're facing in the wrong direction or (like now) the character is stuck not facing the direction of the NPC you're talking to!

Why has this remained an elusive fix bioware? ....it really unwravles all the time you spent on face textures when shepard is talking to Liaria but facing 90 degrees to the right.

/end rant.

At least they fixed the rubber neck from ME2 when walking around the Normandy.

The Eyes don't lie, I love the eyes of the characters, hence why I hated most the ME2 alternate outfits, they all had eye gear of some sort. My favorites Eyes of ME
1.Samara (Duh Samaritan all the way)
2.Jack, so expressive, they even betray her tough act, so much in her eyes
3.ME2 Kelly Chambers, her big eyes and eye lashes,
4.My Shepard's eyes, they looked best in ME2, really had the bright green shine to them.
5.ME2 Mordin, his eyes had more moisture in them in ME2 and he blinked much more too.
6.Thane, his eyes were cool too, so much to them and really made him a great friend
7.Javik, four eyes much more harder to do yet they turned out really good
8.Zaeed, come on blind in one eye from being shot in the head, it made him look way more scary and bad@ss

That's funny, because I personally think eyes are the main problem in ME3 when it comes to character animation and realism, and it's really really annoying me, because the illusion isn't there anymore. Maybe because they wanted them to be more detailed and because the lack of film grain, in any case they look like doll glass eyes, because the white is way too shiny.

It's true that they're moving when you're pausing, but not as well as in the previous games. In general, the eyes are expressionless, soul-less, hollow in comparison to ME1 and 2.
I tend to really focus on FemShep's eyes, but this is true for all human characters in my opinion. Jacob and Miranda were really really more realistic in ME2.
Asari characters are much better off, I don't see such a difference frome ME1 to ME3.

I absolutely loved FemShep's vibrant eyes in the first two games, they used to move a lot quicker, and less systematically, it looked more random movement, and so, more alive. Even the makeup looked better, the eyeshadow on the lower lid was softly shiny depending on the angles, really astonishing! All the dialogues aboard the ME1 Normandy are gorgeous, with that orange sunset lightning, I miss that so much, you really had the feeling to be aboard a space submarine.

Anyway, back to the eyes, another thing tha treally bothers me is the shape of the eyes for FemShep. I haven't tried all of them, but in general, it's supposed to me almond shaped, with curves. But now, the lids have inner angles, so it's really really weird looking, much like a Sim. It really shows when Shepard is closing her eyes while frowning, like in the intro, no human being has eyes that look like curved slits when closing his/her eyes!

Also, I miss the wrinkles. Ah... l miss a lot of things. ;-)

Agreed. The irises look painted on in ME3, too, not indentations like they should be.

Any tips on modding that? I think I'll try to apply Liara's eyeshape to FemShep. I'm under the impression that Liara's eyes don't have that ugly crease above the eyes that seem to "swallow" the eyeballs.

I've already successfully edited makeup and closed FemShep's upper eyelids a bit so that she doesn't look so artificially astonished all the time, it's a lot better, but not really as enjoyable as it should be. I'll probably try to change her skin texture if possible too. Ah, also, I've tried placing the eyeballs a bit further inside the skull, and I think it looks better.
