I guess we have to make the same changes to remap the keys with each patch/DLC installation?

I did the edit described in the OP. I haven't had to re-do it after the patch.

Well it updates the Coalesced.bin which overwrites the version of the file that had your alterations, so yes.

It's a minor tediousness in contrast to having everything on the Space bar, though - if you ask me.

So in short, I had to re-do it myself, but I don't really mind, as what I gain is worth it regardless :wizard:

Still works fine for me as far as I'm aware.

I'd be happy with an in-game menu interface that can rewrite the Coalesced commands in the same manner, but only for the controls.
But of course, why would they do that :wizard:

So, when the patch was released I opend Origin and the game auto-updated. When I got in game, I clearly had the patch but my c.bin was unchanged, in that all the changes I had made were still there.

I decide to manually (right click > check for updates) update just now. Apparently it found something and updated. I just had to re-do all my changes.

Just wanted to put this here just in case some how we get banned and that thread disappears. :police:

So just for clarity,

Under bioinput.ini > sfxgame > sfxgamemodebase > bindings = (multiple)

I put this ( Name="FOV100", Command="FOV 100" ) as a new line.

And where do I add this line ( Name="NumpadNine", Command="FOV100" )?

So that it makes the experience better/smoother & less frustrating for us??  I dunno but i havent read the whole thread so sorry if this has been discussed earlier somewhere in the thread.

I also imagine, with this FoV change, you can set up multiple commands and key bindings for different FoVs? So I could put the default FoV on one key and my desired FoV on another and switch between them?

Yes, that is possible, however by that current workaround I gave regarding the weapon zoom would set it to a definite value for every zooming, which kinda sucks if you want different FOVs for different keys.
However, it IS possible.

I kinda wonder if it is possible to somehow create an integer which you would set by pressing the key, but I really doubt it unfortunately.

But otherwise, yes, it is possible ~ but either your Zoom would set it to a definite value, or your Zoom would get messed up. Or you could have a manual "FOV Reset" as in FOV 0 command that would fix your FOV to default before zooming.

I was just curious because I've heard FoV changes mess up cutscenes, and I do plan to play SP again. I guess I'll just have to change it manually in c.bin when I decide to play SP again.

Btw, you should add the FoV and shared aim fix to the OP. Maybe change the title too. Maybe something like 'seperating the omni-button and FoV fix for PC'

Well, technically defaulting the FOV is done by the "FOV 0" command.
That could help with the SP part as well, but I personally am no longer interested due to the ending issues.

Also, I've changed the title as you mentioned, it should probably attract more users now.

Hey, if they don't want the fixes, their loss. They are super easy and I love them both. Don't think I could play without them.

Thank you for this guide, it was very helpful.
Is mapping a key to FOV 100 actually even necessary though? As long as you add the FOV 0 OnRelease FOV 100 to the Shared_Aim command list, all you have to do to activate FOV 100 is zoom with your weapon once at the beginning of the first match played after starting up the game.
Anyway, very helpful and appreciated.

Yeah, you're right, I was actually thinking of that later on, but I already got used to the key.
I'll change it in the guide so people don't have to mess around with it.

Just made a quick video to show the change. I used 100.

I also plan to make a vid showing how to do the change shortly. It's not all that necessary as the change is super easy but I figure it couldn't hurt to have a vid guide for anyone that's worried they might screw something up.

Forgive me for not reading through the entire thread, but I was under the impression that changing the FOV was a bannable offense in co-op, which really made me quite angry when I heard about it.

So just to get some clarity on this issue, are you saying it is safe to change the fov? Because if it is, I am sooo changing that crap asap. I hate the default fov with a passion.
